Loud Wind & road noise?

Loud Wind & road noise?
Does anyone feel like G35 should be more quieter. My 97 Prelude is quieter then the G35. I current own a 740iL and ML500. The 7 of course is quieter like no comparison but expected G35 to do better then my ML500 but its not. Is it normal or do I need to replace the weather seal for my 04 G35 less then 2 weeks of ownership????

Re: Loud Wind & road noise?
Something's wrong... I find my G is super quiet... no radio, just the fan running on low and I almost didn't hear a fire truck about 50 yds behind me on the street!

No problems with mine. Plenty quiet. Have your service dept. check it out. You may want to actually have one of them ride along with you on the freeway so you can point out the noise that's bothering you.

Re: Loud Wind & road noise?
I think the G35 is a little louder than what I expected - not terrible by any means - but just not as quiet as I expected. Passat is quieter with respect to wind noise. I did notice however that wind and road noise change with the change in road surface (recently washed vs. wet vs. regular for road, air temp and humidity for wind noise).
I did however have a problem with the driver side mirror and Infiniti replaced under warranty and that made the car a lot quieter.
Other thing is that the it is easier to drive the G much faster than you think you are doing ! And the speedo is very accurate.

Wind noise should be very low with these cars. Road noise is kinda dependent on the tires. The Bridgestone Turanza's are much quieter than either of the Goodyear's that come on the car. Granted, they don't handle nearly as well, either.

Re: Loud Wind & road noise?
Yes M500.....
I had the same reaction as soon as I drove my new G and still do 6 months later! This car is very noisey inside. I came from a BMW 540, and I suspect my problem is the same as yours, the BMW's are quiet inside. However, the G, in my opinion, is way to noisey inside. I have to constantly turn up the radio as speed increases (I don't use the automatic volume control on the radio, but that must be why they put it on the G).
The noise I hear is kind of a wind/road noise from the back of the car (and it's different than the noise from the 18" tires, which actually isn't that bad). If I drive my BMW with a window slightly opened, it sounds like the G with the windows closed!
Someone mentioned a dynamat(?) to, I guess, soundproof the car. What exactly is dynamat and where would you put it on the car?

Re: Loud Wind & road noise?
I agree the car is loud and gives a high sensation of speed. It does not bother me but I had to borrow an 03 toyota camry and found myself doing 100 without realizing it! I was shocked how quiet the camry was. No wind noise whatsoever and that thing is far from being "luxury". I felt even worse about the G after I took an offramp at 70 in the camry and it was dead stable. My non sport G gets all wobbly in this same turn at 65. Sorry to digress...

Re: Loud Wind & road noise?
I'd say that noise and perception of speed are my two biggest dissapointments (and I love the car). I also have a 2001 Acura CL-S, and there's no comparison -- the Acura is much quieter and there's very little perception of speed until you're well over 100. The G feels like it's going fast at 65, even though it does feel totally "planted" and under control. It sounds to me like the wind noise is coming from the windows, like the seals just aren't tight enough or something.
