What is the best oil to use?
I know this is subjective to each of us (and that this topic has been discussed before), but I'd like to know in your opinion the best oil to use for our sedans. I plan to change the oil on my own soon, so I'd like to find out what's best out there. For the filter, I'm going to try Mobil-1 (after reading this thread from 6mt.com).
Mobil 1 full synthetic is pretty much the best widely avaliable oil you can buy. I hear stories of G35's burning Mobil 1 oil but mine doesn't burn any oil at all between 5K mile oil changes. I have also used the Mobil 1 oil filters but last oil change I couldn't get one so I used a Napa Gold oil filter.

I use the Truck & SUV Mobil-1 5w-30 full syn oil with a Firestone filter from my work. Never had my car leak or burn even a drop of oil. Pour in the 5 quart jug from walmart and it stays right at the Full level on the dipstick for 5k miles.

I've noticed that most of you mentioned changing the oil every 5K miles (or 4 months, I believe). However, the owner maintenance schedule says to change the oil every 3,750 miles or 3 months, whichever comes first. Which oil change interval is the right one to go with?

People use 5k intervals when using synthetic oil (I do that too). 3750 is for dino oils.
Mobil 1 is the easy choice for oil selection. If you want to delve into it, you will be amazed at how oil choice is viewed as a religion - just try googling for best oil - you will find some dedicated sites to it.

No one knows, they are all good for what they're supposed to do. Now it's just personal preference. Most folks including myself switched to fully synthetic. I use mobil 1, castrol is good too, plus tons of others. Oh don't be fooled by the notion that the more expensive one last/protects better. They are ways to find out the test results of many brands somewhere on here.
