headlight bulb question

I have a 04 g35x and i just noticed when my stock HIDS are on. I look at the lights and inside the actual headlight housing I see one side there is a halogen little bulb on and the other side it is not working. What are these lights called? Can I get them to match the stock hids, like white? I dont know what these bulbs do, there not the fog bulbs, since those work when on. This is when im in park, i dont know if they turn off when i put it in drive. Are these parking light bulbs? Illegal to change them to white?

Are you talking about the little one in the fog/high part on the bottom?

They are called city lights and come on with your parking lights. The bulb number is a 194. You can get little LED's to better match your HID's. I had some Piaa ones for a while but cut that part out when I did the TL projector mod.

My 04' had city lights.

When it comes to bulbs that are a PITA to change I always get the better ones so my vote is for the Piaa. As for temp, if you get the LED's, there is no temp to pick, you just buy a color. If you go with a non-LED bulb you want to get something close or a little above 4300K.

is this illegal to change? I would think not because they only go on when parked. Also, I would prob get the white ones so it just matches the HIDS, i dont want a blue bulb like i see with the piaa xtreme whites 194 bulbs, those bulbs are blue and if you look at the headlight there right there and I dont want a blue bulb visible. I just want a clear one, but puts out white, not halogen. how come when my lights are on auto and i turn the car off but dont get out of the car, my lights will not turn off automatically after like 10 sec?

No cop is going to give you crap if you get the white Piaa ones. Yes that link is the correct bulbs.

Not sure what you are asking with the last question.

so to get white i have to get those, i see the xtreme whites by piaa and there bulbs, but the bulb is blue, i want a clear not noticable bulb when the lights are off that looks just like a regular stock bulb. The last question when i have my lights on auto and i turn off my car and just stay in the car my headlights wont turn off automatically. they only would if i got out of the car and locked the doors.

You can get the Piaa bulbs in white, white/blue, and all blue. Go for the all white. I have a pair of the white/blue around here somewhere.

I don't have the auto lights so I'm not sure on that one. I know my lights are on a ~5minute timer so they will go off after that long if I leave them on.

ya those are piaa LED's, so they dont look like a actual glass bulb.
