not going to argue the point of the service problems on your car.. ive dealt with enough dealerships to feel for ya !

however receiving a loaner car is a bonus... most of us have come from honda's , etc... loaner car... uh well we'll give you a ride home sir.

after trolling the bmw boards they've had service problems too , imo alittle more then us. so imo getting a free loaner car & a car maker who knows he's competing with lexus,bmw,mercedes will imo give alittle better effort.

p.s. does problems such as his cause any damage to engine/exhaust system ? id be inclined to say yes... but good luck proving it ?

 

I got a call from Suburban Infiniti about an hour ago, letting me know that my car is fixed and ready ! As an added bonus, since I wias inconvenienced, they did my brakes (they had quoted me $550 to do this job) at no charge (Good Willed by Infiniti) .

Things were looking up!!

I got there, and everyone was super nice!!!! My car was as clean if not cleaner than it was the day it was delivered!!!

I started her up and almost made it out of the parking lot when I saw the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light on... I turned right around and came right back into the service area. Boy were they happy to see me!

It seems my car is now throwing two additional codes it was not throwing before!

I am back at work. In the same loaner (They tried finding me an '07 to drive, but there were none around) operating under the assumption that I will not have my car back today.

I should have gone elsewhere to get my 15k service done...

WTF?!?!?!?!

 

@#@# happens man, you have $550 free brake job , a service shop possibly trying to bend over backwards for you. it'll be made right. on a negative side, doubt there is much left for the dealer to offer you in way of compensation.

I agree that **** happens. I was super happy at first (see smileys above) with everything they did for me.

They WILL get it right and make it right. Just pissed I have to go another day without my iPod and AWD (got icy on teh roads in MI today).

I have done a little Lemn Law research today and the only recourse I have since my car is more than a yr. old is if my car is out of service for 30 days for the same issues in the same yr.

 

curious: what did they do to fix the front creaking. did they say??

 

They didn't tell me yet what they did to fix the creaking, and the work orders are all sitting in my glove compartment at the dealership.

 

Picked up the car late Friday. Running well. Clean as hell. They gave me two tickets to the Industry Preview of the auto show this week.

All in all, although they had many hiccups in this process, they definitely tried to make it right. The thing that irks me is that they woudl not be so loose with the hush money ($500+ in brakes and $150 in tickets to this event) had they not really screwed up. I am kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop.
