Angry My service issues...

Man, I have had a great time driving my '05 G35x so far with no complaints.

Until now.

I dropped my car (12/22) off for the 15k service and to have them take a listen for the creaking in the front suspension (which I was told last time was non-existent). No worries, the creaking sound will be fixed (I had no idea it was so prevalent) on 12/27 when the part comes in, and service is complete. Come pick up your ride, and bring it back Wednesday.

Great!

Go pick up my car and on the way home, it feels like like it's missing or sputtering. Kind of like a spark plug is gone. I call the service dept. from the road and am told it could be my MAF sensor. Stopped at the gas station to check and that thing is plugged in snugly. I'm told as long as my service engine light isn't on, I'll be fine until Wednesday morning (this is Friday Night).

Saturday morning, I drive to breakfast. Car is no longer sputtering, but service engine light is now on.

Take my car in Wednesday morning to be fixed. Wednesday goes by and they don't get to my issue. Thursday afternoon, the Air Flow Sensor is replaced and service engine light turns off, but (and this is in the words of my Service Rep) "when we took it out to make sure everything was ok, the car died and had to be TOWED 1/2 mile back to the dealership).

Friday afternoon, I get a call saying "we think it is the fuel pump". GREAT!! Can't get a fuel pump installed until WEDNESDAY 1/3.

Amazing... My car was running fine when I dropped it off.

I am now flirting with two whole weeks without a reliable car (except for the '04 I get to drive that has Suburban Infiniti emblazoned across the side).

Thanks for reading. I feel 3% better now that I have vented.

That sucks!

It may be bad timing and the didn't cause the problem but on the other hand you never know.

Hope it all works out. They did give you a loaner right?

I would hope the ECU could pull enough timing to save the car from some bad gas. The VQ can run on 87 so it would have to be quite bad to do something like this.

That sucks...Now I'm a little worried. I stepped into my car and heard a "creaking" noise. At first I'm thinking the car is settling to carry my fat ***, but could it be something else? Are you talking about creaking while driving, or while getting into the car, or both?

Ok, let me be clear. The creaking is a separate issue. They have already fixed that.

The other issue is still up in the air.

Car drove fine before dropping it off to them though, and was running on the same tank of gas...

The creaking in the suspension occurs when the car changes levels so to speak, like pulling into a driveway, easing over a speed bump, etc...

After hearing that others have had this very real issue, it is upsetting that the Service Techs played dumb the first time.

Sorry to hear about your issues, but hopefully it'll be fixed after 1/3. Good Luck.

Sounds like they are increasing there service revenue for the dealership. I wouldn't go back there. Take it to another dealership if you can, and have them look into it.
Also see what the Lemon Laws are in your state. If you get to that point, threatening to enact that law or follow up with a lawyer may get you some decent service.

-UPDATE-

Got a call today. It seems the Air Flow Sensor they had installed was faulty. Will be ready tomorrow.

After giving Infiniti's Quality Assurance Call people my thoughts (and the dealership a ****ty rating, which hits them harder than you'd think), I received a "What can we do to make this better?" call from the service manager. Since this was after I received a call telling me my car would be ready in the morning, I was less bitter and merely told her to get me my car already so I could stop driving their billboard on wheels (Suburban gives you a courtesy car with their name and number coverign the entire driver's and passenger door).

I did however mention lemon law (my buddy just got a killer deal on a LOADED Hummer thanks to this) and also told her how disappoitned I was to be poo-poo'd last time when I mentioned the suspension creaking, since it is a known issue on this car and they should have acknowledged that fact.

hopefully I'll be back in action with no complaints tomorrow.

damn. I feel your pain. I went in for the suspension creaks to have my compression rods changed for the 2nd time in 30K miles, and I came out with a worse car...similar to you. I went in with a perfect car (besides the creak), and came out with creaky brakes and a curbed wheel. It pi$$es me off to think that my car is getting beat up by someone else other than me

good luck with the dealer. But don't forget that the dealer can be your best friend or your worst enemy. They all suck, but I stick to the best of the worst. Then make friends with the SAs regardless of their incompetence. It pays off in the end when they can't fix things the first time but they keep trying cause you've never pissed them off and they kinda like you.

It probably was a sensor not plugged in fully after the maint. Stay on top of them, because nobody else will!

I'd bargain for a one day free rental of a 07 G or M!

I totally hear you on meking friends with the SA. I gave the guy glowing reviews even amidst the horrible review I gave the dealership. They will call again to see how this go-round was and I'll be cool. no burnt bridges.

I was totally thinking of asking them to demo an M for the day, but y'know what? I miss my own car!
