Re: Underbody diffusers

Hi, guys. The part numbers are:
INF 74586-AM600 COVER - REAR FLOOR,
INF 74587-AM600 COVER - REAR FLOOR,
INF 08911-1062G NUT, 4 required,
INF 01436-01381 SCREW, 2 required.

They can be ordered from any Infiniti dealer. The mounting studs are already on the sedan.

Re: Underbody diffusers

Any Ideas what these parts cost and how much for the dealer to install? Does anyone have any pictures so I know what I'm talking about when I go to the dealer?

Re: Underbody diffusers

It's super easy if you can get your car in the air (jacks, ramps, etc). All the same size bolts. Just pop the 10mm on the drill motor or a large phillips head. I like the latter myself.

Re: Underbody diffusers

The retail cost is $78 +/-. Give the numbers to the parts guy and he'll know what to order. Install them yourself, it is very easy. Also, you can inspect the underside of your car at the same time.

I gotta have them! My dealer tells me Infiniti wants $700 for
them. Please more details on how to get them for $89.60

Re: Underbody diffusers

dspisak,
geeman49,

My Sedan has the Aero Package. Are the rear diffusers part of this package? Could one of you or another forum member provide pictures of these "covers" installed on a G35?

Thanks,

DaveO

Re: Underbody diffusers

hmm cato: is your dealer charging you for the full areo package?

You should be able to just go to the parts department [at your local dealership], give them those part numbers, and purchase the parts from there

Re: Underbody diffusers

The Aero Package (not to be confused with the Aerodynamic Body Kit) consists of 2 underbody diffusers and 1 rear spoiler. The package costs about $500 as an option at the time of purchase. The rear spoiler is the bulk of that cost. I can't imagine $700 for these two little pieces of plastic and the associated nuts and bolts.

Re: Underbody diffusers

That quote is from the assh0le parts guy at the dealership I
no longer frequent. I submitted the part numbers provided
to my perferred delaership and they tell me that the covers
are $37.50 apiece. Wow, I'm putting those on my car ASAP.
They provide more aerodynamics than the rear spoiler does
and cost a fraction. Too bad they won't be on for my 500 mile
Thanksgiving day drive.

Re: Underbody diffusers

$37.50/each is more like it. Your preferred parts guy got it right. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Re: Underbody diffusers

Dan,

Is the part number for the screw correct? The parts guy at the dealership could not find that number. I might try again with another parts clerk, this guy seemed like I was bothering him to look up the parts. Thanks.

Take care,

Re: Underbody diffusers

My parts guy at Infiniti told me the part numbers for the
nuts and screws were wrong. No mattter, hes going to order
all of the proper parts to install the underbody diffusers on
my sedan. Now I will feel more comfortable going over 110 mph. HeHe

Re: Underbody diffusers

amg35 and cato, the parts numbers are taken from the Niello Infiniti invoice. I purchased the diffusers either late 2002 or early 2003. Maybe Infiniti changed the numbers? The page or fiche that shows the diffusers will show the proper fastners and the numbers. The nuts and bolts appear to be 6mm with integral washers.

Re: Underbody diffusers

I just picked up the 2 diffusers along with the package of
4 nuts and 2 screws. The parts manager threw the nuts and
screws in for free. Total cost was $81.34 including tax.
Can't wait to put them on this evening. Man, they are way
smaller than I imagined.
