Would any aftermarket brake rotor/pad combo do better than stock, at a cheaper price? For example, the R1 Concepts slotted/cross-drilled rotors on e-bay with maybe Hawks pads....Just wondering because it'll be time to change mine soon...Definitely not going to pay dealer-price for a brake job...

Yes, look harder, There are good deals out there.

I got my set of front Wilwood BBK for $1100, Brand new.

4 piston Forged Aluminum Calipers
13.6" two-piece Cross Drilled Rorors
Thick Wilwood pads
Stainless steel lines
Total package 8lb lighter than stock each corner.

i dont get it...so if my brakes were to start sqweeking at 20k miles, i should take it into the dealership and have them check it out? and it shouldn't cost me any money, right? if my rotors were to go bad during the warranty period, it should be covered under warranty?

I had this problem with my 1995 Ford Thunderbird. Ford said it was a manufacturer's problem when making the rotors, which cause the steering wheel to shake when stopping. So Ford replaced them with new rotors and had no more problems after that.

Those 20" rims on your car add a lot of additional unsprung weight and rotational mass therefore making the brakes work much harder.
Well Im really not hard on my brakes and the 20s have only 1500 miles on them!! so it has nothing to do with the wheels!!!

Both ma_sha1 and I got our Wilwoods from ArizonaZcar. Their web site has all the details. Dave at ArizonaZcar set me up with the 6-pot Wilwoods for a few dollars more.

They do look pretty good. But I'm just looking more for cheap replacement for OEM that perform at least as well as stock. Just don't see the point in being ripped off by dealer pricing...

Ah, OK, that explains it. Thx.

Have a look on Tire Rack for the Brembo replacement rotors made for non-Brembo cars, and the Akebono ceramic pads (fronts).

Parts cost will be around $260, labor $0 as they are relatively simple to replace.

I did this on my G35 sedan with the intent of using quality replacements that would last longer than stock and not dust like stock. IMO it takes about 10% more pedal pressure to achieve a given rate of decel as compared to stock. I cannot state that brake performance is better than or worse than stock as it would take controlled conditions on a test track to figure that out. I am placing my trust in two huge brand names in brakes to have done their homework and provide me with a quality product.

That's actually not true.

I did not get it from ArizonaZcar because Arizona Kit is 13" instead of 13.6" &
the rotor in Arizona package is not Cross Drilled.

I forgot the shop where I got it from because I got it on ebay when the shop first introduced the kit, the guy put one on ebay.

If you do a search, I think there was an early post of mine that tells where I got it. I believe the his list price is 1300+change. Still a good deal.

OK, I found the link to my set up:

http://fastbrakes.com/shop/product_i...roducts_id=856

They are now priced at $1250.

It says 13.25", just a hair smaller than mine, which is 13.6".

They no longer have the 13.6" listed.

My bad ma_sha1, I thought you got it from AZC. My rotors from AZC are 13" X 1.37" and the calipers are Billet 6-piston Wilwoods with narrow outboard body. Sorry for the confusion. The BBK cost just under $1500
