I have the Python (the Viper is the same) with a paging remote. I had them wire it to open the trunk and raise and lower my windows. Be sure to get an experienced installer.

I did not want the remote starter for several reasons. I didn't want the added complication; it requires an expensive working transponder key to be mounted in the car (the key part is cut off); it wastes gas; I figured I warm up fast enough without it.

I have had only one bizarre problem in the 15 months I've had it where it wouldn't shut off when it triggered while I was opening it (I never really figured out why). It responded after I took the batteries out of the remote and reinserted them.

Good luck with yours.

I have a compustar but didn't have the remote start installed as well. I didn't really need it so they discounted the install for me in addition to the need for an extra transponder.
