Will be paying mine off this year and then it will be time to get a newer car/suv for the wife. Never ending saga of car payments.

Same here. Last payment is this June. Can't wait.

Now maybe I'll be able to afford the kid's braces

Congrats... just paid mine off as well this past Nov after 3 years and I'm still giddy. As great as it feels having no car payments I just may be too tempted 3-4 years from now with all these new cars coming out like the redesigned next gen coupe or the evo x or who knows how the next Z will be like.

Congratulations. And now for a funny story.

I had bought a new Mistsubishi Galant in about 1985 and was paying it off. I neared the end of the payments and said, what the heck, I'll send the last two in together and get overwith. I stopped at a mailbox and put the payments in. Going back to the car, when I opened the car door, the outside handle came off in my hand! Luckily it was still under warranty and they fixed it without giving me a problem, but it was a really weird experience.

I hope your handle is still on.

Congrats!!

I paid mine off after 3 months. I hate having payments. It's so nice not to have to worry about that.
