How have your oem tires performed in the snow?
ie.. the premium 215-55-17s or the sport 225-50-17s. I'm thinking that a dedicated snow tire is probably a better choice vs an all season. RWD w/ no LSD = bad.
You guys had any good luck with a cheap snow tire? If so, list them up!

I don't know how much snow you get in your neck of the woods, but I find my 215/55R17 Avon M550s to perform decently in the snow and ice for a high performance A/S tire. My G has had no issues tackling up to 6" of slick powder snow (even up hills) and the 3" of ice/sleet/freezing rain we got from Friday-Sunday last week. Traction control, stability control, and brains are the keys to driving this car around in the snow and ice. Our winter lasts about 3 months, 10-15 days of which it's snowing. Daytime winter temps typically range from 10 to 40 degrees. These tires seem to be great in 80 degree temps and 20 degree temps and rain, snow, and dry.

Thanks Dave. The reason why I want to go to dedicated snows is that I have my 19s already. Or will most likely have a set of 19s/18s in some form. That will allow me to run performance summer and dedicated snows. I don't have to rely on a tire to do everything.
