Have any of the sponsors ever offered a group buy on an extended warranty? sounds like they might make some money if they offered a factory warranty at a great price. hummm

I bought one for wifeys Armada, was $1500- for 6 yr. 120K, zero deductible and included all components navi, DVD etc. all the I was worried about and of course drive train etc. I did not buy one for my new G as I do about 45k per year it would not be of any real value!(I don't think!) Also nissan does not provide service loaners(even when you drop $45-50K on a truck) and I could not justify the QX56, not worth the extra $10K. It is the same truck and my twins will puke on that supple leather anyway!!!! This warranty gives me a service loaner, which is a good deal!

I was just quoted yesterday from the dealership, for me to purchase an extended factory "Elite" warranty, it's $1,600 with $100 deductible and covers me up to 96K miles/3 years. I currently have 56K on my car.

Warrantys.............

For some reason in the last three days I've received three offers for
extended warrantys thru the mail. I asked the salesmanager at my local
Infiniti dealership about warrantys just a few weeks ago. To extend my
dealership warranty for five years and 100K miles would be $1200. These
companys that offer you warrantys will take your $ but don't like to pay
you when the time comes. Example, '02 Ford 4X4 blew it's motor after
sucking a valve the warranty co. refused payment because the owner
had put larger tires/wheels on the truck. Is there a G35 coupe/sedan
out there that hasn't had a few mods that might void such a warranty?

I'm skeptical about a lot of aftermarket warranties that aren't through the dealership now. I had an aftermarket 100K warranty on my old maxima and when it was time to get it fixed under that warranty, it turned out they only covered up to a "reasonable and customary" amount for the repairs. Little did I know that they considered the dealer's charges to be much more than the reasonable charges. I couldn't find that statement anywhere in my warranty paperwork, so when I argued with the warranty company about it, they said I had an outdated warranty handbook and they'd send me a current one...Naturally I was pissed, but at the time I didn't pursue it any further. I just learned from it and will be smarter next time...
