Well I'm having my transmission replaced soon by Infiniti. I took it in about three months ago and they agreed to replace it. Sense then Ive had a short shifter installed. The problem I'm having is whether or not to take out my short shifter before i drop off my car or just leave it on. I really don't want to have to take it off if i don't have to. What do you guys think.

I havent got any info on what the problem is, It started out grinding from 4th to 5th. Now every Gear basically Grinds. But on the subject of the short shifter the dealership im talking it to can be ******. They say they dont do any aftermarket mods even adding oem Spoilers.

If it's grinding, that's the synchros. If they are that ****, I would take it out. Forget my last comment. A short shifter could be shown to cause problems with the synchros if they tried. It would depend on if they even saw it. To pull the tranny they just disconnect if from below and don't ever deal with the shifter. It may be noticed on a test-drive.
^^^+1. Take it out to be safe. Don't give them any excuse to decline your claim. Every dealer is as good as the guy looking after you in service. If he's an a$$...he can make your life difficult.

What ever................!
At this point you're tied at 7 each..........if the shifter didn't cause the
problem with the trans then why bother taking the damn thing out?
On the other hand......if your responsible for the failure of the trans because
you didn't install the shifter correctly then by all means take it out!
See, we're even again........haha
