My new G and my first post

Hey fellas,

I just bought my new G35 Sedan on Dec 23 (a nice Xmas present), but I just discovered this forum. I wanted to share my exprerience.

I actually bought a NEW 2005 6MT sedan. I had been looking for a gently used '05 6MT sedan, definitely with Prem Pkg A, but with no other options as a must-have. I was ready to give up, but I ran a search on Autotrader.com (again!) and forgot to check "used cars", and up pops this new G, with 92 miles, with Prem Pkg A, Nav, Aero Pkg, and Splash Guards...

...and the asking price was almost $10k off sticker. It had been sitting on their lot for over a year. I verified it all on CarFax, saw that it had never been sold, grabbed the wife, and took off for downtown Chicago. After a little negotiating, I drove home with my new toy for $26500 before TTL(sticker was $37260). That's about the asking price of a slightly used '05. I didn't really want the Aero Pkg (don't like spoilers on 4dr sedans) and I definitely was not very excited about Ivory Pearl, but for the price, they're growing on me. BTW, if anyone is wondering, I also still have the full warranty since the in-service date is Dec 23, '06.

After we closed the deal, the salesman admitted that this particular dealership simply cannot move any 6MTs. They were obviously very eager to deal. It was probably the best car purchasing experience that I have had. Dealer staff was very courteous and not pushy. I'm just surprised they can't sell manuals in the middle of downtown Chicago.

Anyway, I couldn't be happier. Since it seems to be a requirement, I attached some pics with my new cheapie 18" wheels from the Tire Rack and Dunlop Winter Sport M3s. The stock 18" wheels and summer tires are right where they belong in the middle of a Chicago winter, stacked in the garage.

Cheers,
SofaKing (happy with my new G)

Welcome! What a great deal you got yourself, seems like a perfect situation. You should be very happy about the aero package, now that you have discovered the forum you would've discovered you missed it. Also, good job posting the pics, off to a good start, avoiding your first flaming

GP you should really black out the chrome trim around your windows and handles. Your ride is looking fly with the grill.

I had no idea this forum had so much activity. I'm surprised to check it now and discover so many responses. Thanks for the big welcome.

BigSash, actually, I'm discovering that you're absolutely right. I just spent some time looking through the sticky with the modded G35s and it looks like a majority of the cars have the Aero Pkg. It seems to complete the car nicely, especially on the cars that are lowered on 19s or 20s.

I have little to go by in the Chicago area. I can honestly say that I don't remember ever seeing a modded G35 sedan around here. Looks like I'll need to move to the West Coast.
