PHEW...just got a quote from the shop I bring my car to for new rubber...$250 for the install plus $70 for an alignment.

Is it necessary that I let the car settle first, before they do the alignment, or doesn't it matter?

Is that true!?
I got the same run around - these guys are reading from a computer data base that tells them what the "standard" work time should be. I took my stuff to a small local shop and once he looked at the parts and my car on the lift he quoted me a price. He did the entire job in about 2.0 hours with 1-guy.

Question, use a spring compressor or not? if not, how are you guys removing the stock springs safely? I'm picturing electrical cord and a stick in my head right now!

+ 1 on letting them settle for a couple of weeks. Mine definitely settled after the first day.

As far as the spring compressor question, you need spring compressors to remove the springs from the front strut. You do not need them on the rear. See this DIY:

How often do you have to get the wheels alighned with a 350 drop? My last car I had to get a camber kit with the drop and it was expensive. If I do this I would like to avoid having to go through that.

I believe the amt. of times you need to get an alignment would be the same as if you were riding OEM height...as often as you deem necessary. I can't imagine why you'd need to do it more often...but maybe I'm wrong....
