Re: Infiniti Letter -- Brakes and rotors

If the warranty is for 36 mo./36k, it's not just a one time thing, no where in that letter does it say "one time only" it says 36 mo/36k, period, so he is not fully aware of the warranty it sounds to me, or he's BS'ing you! If that were the way it was, anything that went wrong with your car in the warranty period, would be "one time only" too, call the Infiniti number on the letter and ask them!

I don't know what it would cost to upgrade to Brembo's?
I would think it would be very expensive.

Re: Infiniti Letter -- Brakes and rotors

Just talked to the dealer yesterday and he said if I need brakes replaced twice during the warranty period they will do it no problem. They will turn the rotors the first time and replace the rotors the second time.

Got a call from Infiniti Corporate yesterday stating that they
received my request for reimbursment. It was so great hearing
"your check will be mailed to your residence within the next
two weeks". This is great!

I got a call from ICA on Wednesday. It was nice to hear "YOU GOT MONEY" coming...I think I wrote a hand written 2 page letter explaining how upset i was about the brakes squeaking and having to be replaced before 12K miles...Someone up there likes us G owners! ICA the bomb will be loyal to Nissan Motor Corp. now! Bye Bye HONDA/ACURA - ! The only nicer thing INFINITI can do is offer "FREE" regular schedule maint. like Benz and JAGS!

Oh well beggers cant be choosy...What are you guys going to get with your refund check?

<---EXHAUST for me! I just installed INJEN's CAI.
Will have pics...Installed by STAGE MOTORSPORTS!

Re: Infiniti Letter -- Brakes and rotors

Got mine ealier this week, and I just sent copies of my receipts per the letters instructions. I believe I received my letter 12/01/03. I might also add that my care was 18,xxx miles, and I was due in for an oil change, had that replaced, and also had the dealer ship check status on my brakes, I was at 10 percent, and they replaced them for free. They didn't rotate nor replace my rotors, but instead they "resurfaced" them per ITB. It sounds like they reground them or something. Whatever the case they replaced all 4 brakes. Now this is very interesting on the reimbursement for previous brake replacements, because I had changed my front brakes to the EBC green stuff, and the back were stock brakes, since I wasn't able to find aftermarket back at that time. Regardless, the tech found that all 4 brakes were at 10 percent, replaced them, and I'm good for now, but now my concern is since I've sent copies of the aftermarket brake receipts and the actual Infiniti repair receipt, will they reimburse me for the after markets, or will they not justify them since they aren't Infiniti. If any anybody has any ideas about this, let me know, otherwise I'll wait and see.

At 18k you had your brakes replaced for the second time? Did I read this right?

Yeah, it was approximately around 18,618 miles, and they were at 10 percent left from the last time I replaced them, fronts and backs. I drive this car very aggressively. Received like 3 tickets, even while using an Escort S2 Radar Detector (Does it's job fairly to warn me, but sometimes it's just a little too late.) Insurance is up the gazoo. Gotta remove the lead from my feet.

Yes, it is posted somewhere on this site. I'm not sure where. But if you haven't received your letter, just call infiniti consumer affairs and they probably can mail you out a copy.

Re: Infiniti Letter -- Brakes and rotors

thekid:

"Dear Infiniti G35 Owner:

Infiniti is committed to providing the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction. One of the many superior features of the award winning G35 is its excellent braking performance. This performance is due in part to advances in materials technology inherent in the brake pads on model year 2003 and 2004 G35 sedans and automatic transmission coupes. However, that superior performance can result in these customers sometimes experiencing greater brake wear than they may have experienced with other vehicles they previously owned or leased.

What Infiniti Will Do

To ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction, Infiniti is launching a program to provide brake maintenance (as detailed below) on your G35 sedan or automatic transmission equipped G35 coupe for 3 years from the original in-service date or 36,000 miles on your odometer, whichever occurs first, at no charge to you. This program is only available through an Infiniti dealership.

For 2003 or 2004 Infiniti G35 sedans or automatic transmissions equipped G35 coupes, this brake maintenance program covers brake pad and/or brake rotor replacement (or turning as appropriate) performed by your Infiniti dealership (only) when required because of wear during the program period. This program applies for 3 years from the original in-service date or 36,000 miles on your odometer, whichever occurs first.

What You Should Do

This program covers brake pad or rotor replacement (or turning) found to be necessary when you present your G35 to an Infiniti dealer for normal vehicle maintenance. In addition, as noted in your Owners Manual, the disc brake pads have audible wear warnings. When a brake pad requires replacement, it will make a high pitched scraping sound when the vehicle is in motion, whether or not the brake pedal is depressed. Your Owners Manual advises you to have the brakes checked by an Infiniti dealer if you hear this sound. There will be no charge to you for brake pad or rotor replacement (or turning) if found to be necessary due to wear. This maintenance service should take approximately 2 hours to complete, but you may have to leave your car for a longer period based upon dealer work schedules or parts availability.

If you have previously had your brake pads or rotors replaced (or turned) during maintenance to your vehicle prior to the announcement of this program, you may be eligible for reimbursement of those expenses. Please simply complete the attached form and provide us with proof of such brake maintenance service and the amount paid, as well as proof of ownership.

With this program, Infiniti intends to reduce your overall ownership costs as you continue to enjoy your G35 and Infiniti’s Total Ownership Experience. If you have any additional questions, please contact your Infiniti dealer or you can contact Infiniti Consumer Affairs at 1-800-947-9115.

Infiniti Division"
