customautomesh on non-Aero sedan?

Has anyone installed a mesh grille, for example the customautomesh.com material, on a non-Aero Sedan? If so,
could you provide some installation tips? Do I remove the stock grille altogether? Do I trim it down to support the mesh? Any help greatly appreciated!

That's what I'm trying to find out. The mesh from customautomesh is supposed to replace the stock grille somehow, but I don't know the steps involved. Have you done it?

They make a replacement for the lowers on the coupe front end, not sure about the sedan. Even more the 03/04 sedan.

yeah, it's definitely not a grill replacement. i'm using customautomesh in place of the mesh utr sent me w/ the grill and that's working out pretty nicely. but i dont think it would look rigth otherwise.

Off topic but that 350GT emblem over on the side makes those look soo good. Nice work!

I exchanged some emails with Diesel1, sent him pictures and measurements of my 03 sedan, and have now received the mesh. I guess that the only sedan owners who have used their mesh used it to replace an existing mesh grille and not the stock grille. I'm waiting for some instructions from customautomesh.

I've searched through the archives and have found references to people trimming their grille with a dremmel, fashioning mounts for the mesh, etc. But nothing in the way of a clear DIY.

I'll keep looking and waiting to hear back from Diesel1. I'll post whatever I find.

Yeah - I suspect it was the measurements I gave to them that allowed this offering. We started with the stock 350Z mesh and Diesel1 added a couple inches to the height and width to accomodate the sedan.

Now...if only there were some instructions on how to install. I'll give them a couple more days, then will probably just get jiggy with a Dremmel - either it'll work or it won't. What could go wrong?

actually it was measurements that i gave them. i sent them an e-mail earlier, john got back to me super fast stating if i sent him the measurements he would make one asap and hook me up (which he did =]) so i went and sent him an old photo of my G (which is now on the site) along with a diagram including all the measurements....awesome people here are instructions i was given to mount:

you're going to need to dremel out the stock mesh (by getting behind the bumper or taking it off) then attach the mounting hardware with epoxy (preferably putty epoxy) and let dry, then you can attach the customautomesh to it)

also installation hardware is needed

Hey guys, from chobble's post, a dremel and epoxy is the best way to go. I think if you search the forums, a previous customer put up some diy instructions for installing the mesh on a coupe.

If anyone has measurements for an 03-04 non-aero sedan and some aero sedan bumpers we could get those up.

We've been slow to get sedan stuff up since we both had coupes. Since I'm getting a sedan in about 2 weeks, I'll be sure to include the sedans on the site more.

OK - now I'm even more confused. How can I "dremmel out the stock mesh" when my sedan doesn't have any mesh? I've got the stock 03 non-Aero grille. There's no mesh anywhere.
