IMO a kit is the best idea.
It is not necessary to have a large opening but the more airflow to the IC the better.
A SC is another good option. Not as efficient as a turbo but any FI is still better than none.

That's just the turbo kit, not the IC kit. The lowest price I have seen for both is ~5500. That's jut for the kit, you should also get a better EM like a UTEC and tuner. Those are another $1200 or so. The install is ~2000-2500 at most shops.

Apparently they also have a 350z setup coming out early this year.
The universal kit was $2995 and requires some minor fabrication of piping. But one doesn't have to worry about any under the hood fabrication as far as downpipes, exhaust manifolds, etc...

Remote mount turbos are a cool idea but have their problems too. You will have more lag and possible oil problems since you need to add a pump. I might do one on my GF's pathfinder since no one makes a kit for it.

An oil pump to get oil all the way back to the turbo. Any time you have a turbo away from the engine or below it (like the APS ST) you need to add a pump to get oil to and from the turbo.

Remember, you get what you pay for - and "skimping" on a turbo kit isnt the smartest thing in the world.

yea i guess so...maybe ill just save up for a turbonetics..the install would be cheaper than a greddy right..?? about how many hours of labor..
im gonna have to head to the store and get one BIG *** piggy bank.

I would think you can do a TN is 10-15 hours.
Good luck saving! You can always do a 0% credit card for 12-18 months. That's how I started. Just make sure you can pay if off before it starts charging interest.
