Coupe 19s Tire Question

Quick question for all of you tire guys:

My coupe 19s with OEM Potenzas should get here tomorrow . As I understand it, the tires are asymmetrical but are they also directional? If they are directional, will there be something on the tire that indicates the direction so that I will know which side of the car to put each on? If they aren't directional I assume it won't matter which side they are on as the long as the fronts are on the front and the rears are on the rear. Is this correct?

Thanks in advance.

If they are directional they will say either right/left or have arrows showing the direction. You can also tell by looking at the tread.

Coupe wheels and Stones.............

On the sidewall you'll see arrows and they'll point the direction the tires
should roll. One thing about Bridgestones, don't count on them lasting
very long.......checkout the tred wear numbers on the sidewall too......
probably 140 and that tells me maximum life will be 10 to 16K miles at
best!

atleast you didnt compare them to another tire company's treadwear ratings this time

Jamey: No tire can be asymmetrical and direction at the same time. Asymmetrical means they can be mounted only one way for them to work like they were designed. Asymmetrical tires will have 'OUTSIDE' and 'Inside' on the sidewall, stating how they are to be mounted. Directional tires can be mounted either right or left, just make sure you have two of each.

Ahh, ok. That makes complete sense now that I really think it through. Since theses are asymmetrical as long as the "outside" is outside everything should be good.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

I only get 10-15k out of mine and they are 280 or 300. That's with no track days either.

yeah, but garyc likes to think you can compare treadwear ratings between tire manufacturers and you can tell everything about a tire from the treadwear rating, even after i've corrected him in almost EVERY thread that he has done so. I guess he's just a stubborn guy
