Oil change, Air filter/ cabin filter
Oil change, Air filter/ cabin filter
Well my car just reached 27000 miles. I purchased it at 24000 so I decided it was time for an oil and filter change.
The stealership charged $43.00 to change the oil. Odd they had a special for only $19 but somehow that didn't include my car. Plus the guy never told me how much it was going to be anyway. The car felt really good. Seemed to pick up some power.
I needed to change my air filter so i purchaced the purolator pureone air filter. It seemed like a good deal at $14 and the installed was simple and stright forward. Not sure why everyone complains about doing the air filter. Just unstanp the clips, unscrew the single blot on the air box and lossen the wire clamp and pull the box free and your good.
The cabin filter was also very easy to change without discontecting a bunch of wires. These two items toook less than 20mins to install. Well worth it. The car feels so much better and more responsive.

Good job with the DIY replacement for the air filter and cabin filter. In the future, you may want to consider doing the oil change yourself. It's not super hard to do, and no different than an oil change on any other car. The only difference is removing the underbody splash guard which is held on by at least a dozen 10mm bolts. Removing this plastic guard will give you access to the oil drain plug and the oil filter, and it's pretty much self-explanatory to continue the oil change process from that point on.
Why do I bother to DIY???

I haven't had the courage to get underneath my lowered car...not comfortable with the jack stands holding up 2 tons of metal above me. It does looks easy to do an oil change though!
