upgrade rearview mirror
I was wondering if anyone here has upgrade their basic on dimmer mirror to the autodimmer homelink button rearview mirror? What would you need to do if you wanted to upgrade it?

So is the harness the oem one that fits perfectly in the mirror or is it a universal one. Also would you have to run the power supply any where and is there any special wiring to install it?
The harness is a universal one that plugs in on the mirror side and just has loose wires on the other. The non-premium cars don't have the harness up there. You can either run +12/Acc/Gnd up to the harness or get them off the lights. I just ran the wires up since I had them over at my glove box for some other stuff, it was faster.

Are you talking about running the wires to the door lights by the sunroof controls?

The only issue is if it is a rolling code remote. If so then someone would have to open up the gate mechanism to program your remote. It is simple but someone who had that acces would have to be willing to help you do it. I never had anyone willing to do so in the gated communities i lived in.
