water in the engine....???

I just got my car back from the dealer where he changed the alternator bearing and pully. Now when i accelerate I hear sound as water is flowing. I hear it even in park when i rev the engine.... I dont know where the sound is coming from.... dealer did a courtesy wash.... and winter is finally here in philly.... any idea what this could be??? Should i wait for temp to go above 30f or take it in anywayzzzz.

Do you mean that you hear water moving somewhere in the car when you move? Like do you hear a swish of water when you take off from a stop?

So, it's "constant" as long as you stay below 3000? If that's so, it sounds like air in the coolant system. Check your overfill tank and see it there is anything in it. I should be between "Cold" and "Hot", if not you need to add coolant.

If it's air you might need to bleed the air out of it too.

See this link: http://www.g35frenzy.com/downloads/2...anual/B/co.pdf

Look under "changing engine coolant". You will find a pic of the air bleed valve on page 11 of 32.

Driving with air in the cooling system can create "hot spots" in the block, not a good idea. Get it fixed.

BTW, you are hearing the air bubbles come through the heater core in the cabin.

I think air release valve is used only when filling your coolant? Correct me if I'm wrong wouldn't you need to drain it, open valve and fill, then close, and do all the procedures shown in the steps?
