Thinking of a G35 Sedan

I have been looking at a couple 03-04 sedans and they sparked my interest. Any advise or things to look for in a used G35 would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

i'd go for an 05, the interior is worlds above the 03-04's and it comes with the body matched under panels and better looking front bumper whereas the 03-04 comes with the black abs plastic underpanels. But either way, you're getting a great car.

Get the newest model your budget will allow. You need to decide which option packages are important.

thank you for the quick responses. Are there any known issues with the 03-04s? I agree the 05's are more pleasing to the eye, but a little more then I want to spend, need to get another toy also. Any motor, tranny or electrical issues known with the earlier cars?

if you cant afford an 05 then i'd definitely go with an 04.5. The early 03's didnt come with HID's and didnt have all the kinks worked out yet. All the 03-04's have sticky brakes that are known to not last for very long. There's no motor issues, a couple here have had their tranny's replaced and i havent heard of any major electrical issues.

I like the 03/04 interior better except for the **** on the temp and clock.

As for the outisde, if you are not going to get the nismo/aero kit then the 05-06 exterior is much better!

That's pretty much my only peeve about the 03-04 interior, i dont like the push button up/down radio and climate controls, i also like the recessed gauges behind the steering wheel in the 05+ better. Other than that, the 03-04 isnt all that bad. But if i had an 04 with a DD, nice shift **** and coupe seats, i wouldnt be complaining at all either

Yep, they sure did. My 03 (built in June 02) had them.

Yeah that's right, it was an option on the early 03's.

I went over most of the differences between the early 03 and later 03/04 in this post:

Also from what I understand, the '04.5 and '05-'06 models have a different manushift transmission pattern with quicker shifts than the '03-'04 ones.

Yes they have rev-match too which is nice. Not a fan of the AT either way but the 05+ does have a better feel based on the loaners I have had.

These depreciate so fast, I'd buy the cheapest well-maintained one you can find. I picked up my 03 AT sedan (xenons, nav, premium) last month for $12K. Let someone else take the depreciation hit.

How many miles did yours have? I dont think i'll ever buy brand new again unless i'm just filthy rich. Cars are a huge waste of money.

i completely agree about new cars being a waste, it had 90K on it, so it certainly wasn't low mileage, but the car was in great shape (had a pre purchase inspection done), just needed new tires and a 3rd brake light. i picked up a set of new shocks/springs off this board for $175 just for the hell of it.
