Another rim ?

Im about to get my tax return money and Im thinking about getting new rims for my G. Ive been looking online and such at alot of the big site tirerack and such and cant seem to find anything I like. Axis has a set i like but i called and they said that they wont fit. I woulkd like something that has a lip. My car is liquid plat. and Im not to sure that chrome rims would look that good againt a light colored car. Oh and I would like to go staggered. Im not trying to spend 3k. Id like to stay under 2k. Id like to get something that will be flush with the body. Any ideas would be great. Heres a pic of the ones I like. Thanks

Try PMing some of the vendors (like AutoMotiveMods) on this site. Let them know your budget and attach the pic so they know the style you are after. (like you did here)

I have a staggered setup that is flush with the body. 19x8.5 +35 upfront and 19x9.5 +45 rear. Depending on the design of the wheel, you should be able to get some decent lip with this setup. You can even go 10" in the rear if you want something more aggressive. The suggested tires for this setup would be 245/35 F and 275/30 R.

The Marketpace, Private Classifieds, sometimes has used sets of great wheels but its hard to come by rims with Sedan offsets there. Just thought I'd mention it if you aren't in a hurry to get the rims right now.

Good luck

^ What he said there aren't that many staggard choices in your price range. Axis makes a couple of rim choices for the G35 sedan. I have the Milanos but I'm getting the Axis Shine in staggard I found them on ebay for for a little over 2K including rims and tires.

Wink

Ok well i think I have located these rims even thought the guy i talked to axis said that these wont fit. I talked to him for about 30 seconds and he told me that they only make 2 wheels to fit the sedan, even thought i know that there are alot of people on here have them. He said the cruz and EXE KonVex were the only one that would work. Well anyway i found them on wheelmax.com. I just called the guy and he said that they have the 60 and 90mm lips available for my car. They are going to be 18x8 all the way around even thought i wanted staggered . 60mm in front and 90mm in rear. 18x8 with 40 offset on front and back.Thats allthey make the offset in. My question is i would like to run bigger tires in the rear . I will have my unrevised sprigs installed soon so thats the drop i will have. What size tires should i get and can i put spacers on them to try to push them somewhat flush with the fender? Thanks alot

^ Hmm good question +40 on a 9.5 and a spacer wouldn't be necessary however with a 18x8 and +40, your wheel would still be in the same position as a 9.5 but you'll have more space towards the inside of your suspension. I would say the max you could go with 235/40/18 in the front and 255/35/18 in the rear on the 8 inch rim but if I recall correctly the 03 thru 04 G35 coupe wheels are 18X8 all four and they are 225F/245R so that's your safest option.

IMO, if you really like the staggered look, I would wait and find a set of rims that would accomodate what you truly want.

You could prob fit a 245 or 255 in the rear but it would look bulged on a 8" rim.

Just my opinion

Hey G35paa and Ttrank:

do you think +42 on 9.5 Rears will rub? I know you have +45 on 9.5 that works in the rear.

If you don't plan on dropping it significantly, then no, you shouldn't have a prloblem rubbing. You should be able to get away with it with a mild drop.

I do have 1" drop with 350z springs. So the answer to that also is no rub?

Thanks guys.

I dont think that i will regret it later i just wish that i could get the rear in like a 9" rather then 8" plus i can save myself like a 1k .So if i do get them what size tires should i run front in back if i get 18x8 all the way around. They have a 40 offset. Only diffrence will be front will have 600mm lip and rears will have 90mm lip. Thanks

^There's a lot of choices you can go with since all the wheels are 18X8 you can go with 225/45/18 front and 245/45/18 rear which won't affect your speedo but you can also play with the a lower profile which would probably be cheaper 225/40/18 and 245/40/18 you will be out of spec but it will give you more play when you go to lower your car on unrevised 350z springs at all 4 corners. The 350z springs in the rear would be lower than having G35 coupe springs and with your +40 offset the lower profile tire in the rear shouldn't rub.
