Re: never drunk and drive

you guys got it right he is a LOSER - I have NO SYMPATHY, EMPATHY or RESPECT for drunk drivers. Don't do it again or you may find yourself in a far greater predicament, you got lucky this time...

Re: never drunk and drive

A picture of the car might help. We've had guys slide their cars into the curb and cause over 5,000 in damage to the suspension, not counting body work. If the cop didn't file a report, the best course financially will probably be to claim it on your insurance (and, obviously, don't tell them about the drunk part).

I do hope you have learned your lesson. There could have been another car or a pedestrian in your path. Drunk drivers kill innocent people. Cars can be repaired or replaced, no big loss on your part this time around.

Re: never drunk and drive

why do people need to learn this "mistake" in the first place ? Its not like this guy was the FIRST person to ever drink and drive. There are maybe a thousand different organizations all of which have tv ads which say drink responsibly and drive responsibly. To come here and admit that he acutally was drunk and not just drinking, but actually drunk not only tells me he is incredibly irresponsible but also the fact that he acutally on a subconcious level feels proud he escaped unharmed and didnt suffer any real consequences. It is this underlying subconcious pride which is the truely dangerous aspect cuz its going to arise again and i bet hes goign to go out again have way too many drinks yet a second time and just say in his mind "ohhhhh last time i had 2 more drinks than i just did now, soo i should be able to drive". And the sad thing is that he will probalby go back out driving and kill somebody the 2nd time.

While no one is eternally vigilant in their life, ie never had just one drink and then going out driving, its whether the person has had enough time to understand how their body reacts to alchool and how much they can truely drink. I ve had my liscense for over 5 years now and even tho im legally allowed to drink, ive always known that i havent had the greatest tolerance. So therefore whenever i go out drinking with buddies i call them up and say "do you mind giving me a ride". Now with this situation the sad thing is that this individual i can bet just turned the legal age of drinking. And because they just turned that age they think because of other previous pride that they can "take the shots and still be fine after 10 drinks". Because of this underlying assumption people like this will never "smarten up" or learn from their mistakes because i can tell you this now, when ppl drink they feel like [censored] superman, and i admit i do when i drink. Therefore this superman attitude results in the person driving anyways despite their "learned lesson".

Therefore this is why i think he should have their license taken away on the spot, whoever this cop was who let him go was completely irresponsible. I live under the threat day after day that if i a) get into an accident or b) drive while drunk that i will no longer to ever afford to drive again. And because of this fear i try to stay vigilant as often as possible.

The person in question has none of this fear and because of that small fact, it makes him highly probalby for a repeat offense. Only through great crisis do ppl acutally learn.

Re: never drunk and drive

I can repeat the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...

None of the mistakes I've made could have KILLED someone...Need me to repeat that? I rarely drive when I go out to the clubs, bars, and parties- that's what limos and taxis are for...And if I am driving, I'm not drinking...It really is THAT simple...We all have Infinitis here- I think we can afford cabs and limos...You will never see me give any respect to a drunk driver- all you WILL witness is me attack, online or offline

And yes, I love my glass house...It's quite a sight when it's bathed in light (that rhymed), and it REALLY makes for amazing viewing of the stars at night...You can only imagine the sunrises and sunsets

You guys are silly. Coming here and admitting to something as foolish as he did is surely flamebait. You guys fell for it hook line and sinker. Just looks at his posts, he is just egging you on for more. Arguing on the internet is like running in a special olyimpics race. You might win but your still a retard.

Re: never drunk and drive

lol shodog-jim... yeah, i guess it could have been a slow day at work for him and he decided to start a flame thread.

i'm just wondering if he learned the right lesson. after reading his initial post, his car damage seemed to be of more importance (and his reason for starting the thread) than his drunk driving. and that is scary to me. but anyway, moving on.

subrobo... make the most of your good fortune. after all the heat from this forum, i'm sure you will be more responsible from now on. drive smart. drive safe.

Re: never drunk and drive

I really don't care if this was bait...I have no problem letting everyone on this forum know exactly how I feel about drunk drivers...I've turned my back on and cut off people that were my friends for drunk driving...Call it silly all you want...I make it clear online and offline that I don't like it and that I won't tolerate it from my friends

Re: never drunk and drive

You know he's right about that I drive over the posted speed limit all the time... and I doubt that I am the only one around here doing that.

Re: never drunk and drive

If you slid into the curb sideways, you probably caused some expensive damage. I did a similar thing a while ago and I managed to damage the suspension components in the back left wheel. The repair bill was about $5000, which included a new wheel. The light-weight aluminum suspension in our cars cracks when subjected to forces in directions that it wasn't designed for. Good luck. I'm sure you will never drink and drive again.
