Re: side skirt question

Of course you can paint the lowers. They will never know. Dealerships are filled with morons. Plus they can't charge you a surplus for making the car better than stock. Do it anyway an F the dealer.

Re: side skirt question

This is exactly why I got my car in black, because it already matches. Of course it's debatable whether or not the headaches/$$$ it takes to keep it looking clean/shiny/swirl-free is worth the alternative: silver w/ $2K body kit...

Re: side skirt question

Lease contracts are tricky. Generally, if you improve the car, they don't care.. but it's wasted money since you're turning the car in at the end and not getting anything for your improvements.

Re: side skirt question

everything said is true. But...infiniti dealers can be gay sometimes. I can get the painted for about $150 - $200....the problem is...if i go to take it back and they dont want it...its going to cost me even more just to get rid of that paint! I guess its not worth it at the end! But thanks everyone for your help!

Re: side skirt question

I have had bad luck in past years with having plastic areas painted, always seem to crack there, "chickenfoot", besides, I rather like the black the way it is!

Re: side skirt question

How much did it cost to get the sills painted? Is $200 a usual price?

Re: side skirt question

$200 is extremely cheap! I have been to 10+ body shops to get estimates...all were $1000+. Not a single one recommended doing it, and they would not guarantee the work. So now I am waiting for a knock-off factory kit to be developed.

Re: side skirt question

the guy that was gonna do it for me told me $200 maximum! he's great too! he said if he did it there would be no problem! he's good at his job. $1000 is SOOO expensive just to paint the sills...i personally think $500 is even too expensive!

Re: side skirt question

Usually to paint all lower valances, that include bumpers and side skirts, the price average price is 500.00
Most of body shop won't remove bumpers, they just remove sideskirts and mask bumpers.
I did mine for $625.00 the body shop remove all parts and paint the entire bumpers not just the black unpainted part.

Re: side skirt question

I wish I cold find a place that was that cheap! $200 is a great price...sheesh after the quotes I have received $600 would be a great price. I went to another place today...the cheapest place yet...~$954. The body shops here in Austin must be crooks!!!!

Re: side skirt question

Well the first body shop I went asked me for 800.00 and they wont remove bumpers just mask.
My body shop asked me for 750.00 but they were doing my SUV and billed me $125.00 less of what the insurance paid for repair my SUV.
Thats why I said it cost me 625.00, but I think was a good price because they remove both bumpers and painted the complete bumpers not just the black part.
