Purolater PureOnes are great too. I remember there was a thread from another forum where an individual cut up every filter he could find including oem, fram, purolater, mobil 1 etc...he made a spreadsheet and the PureOne came out on top. They are priced fairly well at around 5$ and change.

Thanks for the link. I also like that they give additional discounts for purchases over $50 and $125.

I need to get some crush washers. Are they cheaper by the bag?

If it's any consolation, crush washers for my wife's Subaru Forester cost MORE than that from the dealer. Insanity.

I emailed fleetfilter about cabin filters and crush washers. The cabin filters are $15.95 each (PN 24857) but they do not carry crush washers for us.

Can someone post a pic of the crushwasher? Are they special, or are they just plain washers made out of a softer metal?

Where besides the dealer do you guys get them?

The Amsoil Eao12 filters are the best filter you can buy but they cost $15. They are good for up to 25,000 or 1 year and can be reused. They have fully synthetic media that flows extremely well while filtering down to 10-15 microns at 99% efficiency. However if you are concerned about price the Wix/Napa Gold are very good too. I was using the Napa gold before I found out about the Amsoil oil filters.

They sound like decent filters. But you should also clarify that 25k thing:

Service Life
AMSOIL Ea Oil Filters are guaranteed for 25,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first, when used in conjunction with AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oil. AMSOIL recommends changing the oil filter at the time of oil change.

If used in conjunction with AMSOIL Motor Oil that is being changed at intervals less than 25,000 miles, the EaO Filter should be changed at the same time. AMSOIL EaO Filters are not guaranteed for 25,000 miles when used with any oil other than AMSOIL Motor Oil and should be changed according to vehicle OEM
Also just because you use the oil and filter, that doesn't automatically mean you can run 25k. Your engine needs to be in very good working order and not be using it up. That can only be determined by getting the oil analyzed.

Pic of filter for reference:

Yes, obviously you shouldn't go 25k with no oil change without doing a UOA or if you are burning oil.

It might be obvious to you and me but I'll bet no more than 10% of the members here know this. So IMHO, it should be pretty clearly spelled out that this is necessary.
