Oh yes... power lift off oversteer !

Had forgotten about this monster as I am usually pretty even on the gas.. typically accelarating out. Was distracted the other day and lifted off early - was'nt even that fast.. and whoops.. the car rotated oh so nicely. Having said that, would not want to do that on a wet road or at a faster pace !

Could you tell me more about the situation, i.e. a turn on a road, long sweeper, etc. and was VDC on or off?

Re: Oh yes... power lift off oversteer !

1) Left on to a 4 lane (2 each side) road, reasonably low speed, VDC on.
2) Long, decreasing radius onramp, VDC on, about 40-50 mph

Mind you, it was'nt that my tail swung out or anything - but there is a very distinct kick and I can feel the line tighten up. As a matter of fact, it is easy to introduce oversteer in general on demand - power off or on. In the cases mentioned, it was power off (throttle lift off in the middle of a turn) oversteer

The only times I have really gone into big oversteer are on U-turns with full throttle. So much fun!
