Are you sure it was a flush and not a drain and fill? If you did a flush the J-Matic fluid alone costs about $110.

I just called the dealer, Lynnes Infinity in NJ, and made an appointment to have my tranny flushed. I was quoted $165 for parts and labor. I specifically asked if it was a drain n fill or a flush n fill and was told it will be a flush. I'm going there next next week so I'll let you know what happened.

OK guys, sounds like my new toy is gonna get expensive. I drive around 45K per year so I beleive in maintenance. I normally will have the following done twice a year, before winter and after winter, drain and fill tranny, front and rear diffs. and transfer case(this was on my scooby) being an electronic AWD system, how much of my normal routine is or isn't applicable?

I have a question just out of curiosity. I had teh dealer do a drain and refill at 30k which was abuot 4k miles ago. I didnt specify changing the diff fluid. I should prob assume then that they didnt change it correct? Also, how much does it cost to do that and is there a diff fluid used for the differentials or is it the same as the tranny fluid? Thanks guys

Shoot me a PM and we can work out a good day for you to come by.

My 03 AT coupe has about 79K miles now. I hadthe 60K miles service when it was around 58K or so. I've driven it hard and just recently installed a Stillen SC. Is it a good idea to drain and refill my tranny fluid now? And if so, would do please do it for me? I'll be down is SD this Fri-Sun? Thanks. I was at the SD meet last month (1st time), were you there?

Lynnes Infinti is real shady place. Read my post in this thread. They tell you less so that you go there and then charge you for things which are not required.

Also note that they don't flush it and just refill it and I have the invoice from them on which it clearly says that they used 6 qts of J fluid. If they are saying they will flush it for $165 that is not true.

I have an 03 and there is a dipstick, its at the very back of the engine bay near the windshield. Says J-matic somewhere on it, mine was screwed down with a philips screw. Once I remove the screw I can pull the dipstick out and check the fluid. I just had my tranny done about a month ago. $260 was the price.

Well I got 2 options I can take it to the Infinity Dealer or to the Nissan dealer by me where I bought the car. The Nissan dealer quoted me $199.00 flush which sounds about right. I got an account with nissan and I can get the fluid for 7.75 a quart, but I don't know if they will let me bring the fluid and just charge me labor. I have a feeling they will do it to their benefit and screw me so I'll rather pay the 200 and get it over with. I bought the car with 48k on it and now I got 75k on it and I beat the car up hard. Also do you guys think its time to get the diff fluid flushed or just leave it alone? It supposedly is for the life of the car but I don't believe in that.

Stealerships are scarey............!

Infiniti by my house wants $300 to service my tranny. The Nissan dealership
two blocks away quoted me $125 and insisted they use J fluids just like the Z
cars use.......scarey the price diffrence.

Here is a funny story just called the Lynnes Infinity and asked them what kind of fluid goes in the differential and the guy told me we use the 80w90 from a drum . Now there is no way in the world the regular diff fluid will last the life of the car. I'm thinking of going to synthetic in the diff. Any suggestions?

When I drained my original diff fluid, it was in bad shape at 30k, put in Valvoline synthetic blend.

Recently Drained again at 75k miles the fluid looked new, I replaced it but wont be changing it again anytime soon.

It is very easy to change the diff fluid, easier then an oil change IMO

Called the nissan dealer back just to ask a question and the guy said that they can not do a J fluid flush because their machine only is loaded with the D fluid. He said they can do a drain and fill but not a flush. Does any one know of a reliable infinity place in the Jersey area?

I've used Lucas 75W90 Synthetic in my G's and M's rear diff and like it.

I just called another Infiniti dealer in NJ and asked for a price on a tranny flush. The rep told me 150. then I asked if thats a full flush and he said they do not perform such a service. they only drain and fill flush is not an option. wft is going on. How much diff fluid will I need to change it? I'm def going with synthetic diff fluid.

My dealership in Tulsa doesn't do the flushes either. Either it is really something that doesn't need to be done (and the owners manual lists it as optional), or not enough people want to pay what is required, or the machine is just way too expensive, I don't know.
