Mysterious electrical issues with dash
About a week ago I started having some electrical issues with my dash and couldn't find any answers after doing a search. So hear is the problem:
Randomly when I start my car the temp controls, navigation, radio/CD, and gauge cluster lights all don't work. At the same time the AC display will say it is on and it will not let me turn it off. At first, turning the engine off and on seemed to fix the problem and once it a while a light kick would fix the problem. Then one night I couldn't get it to work and I had to drive for an hour with no gauge lights and no radio.
Today however I realized that if I touch my key in the ignition it will fix the problem. When the power went out I applied some clockwise pressure on the key and the power would come back until I let the key go. Then if I applied counterclockwise pressure it fixed the problem for the rest of the drive.
I have already checked my fuses and unplugged the battery overnight to reset the ECU. Has this happened to anyone else????????

The exact same thing happened to me before. It just went away after a few weeks.
I remember turning the car off then turning the key to aux power (just before the car starts) and leaving it on for 30 seconds. I remember my dealer telling me when I bought the car that if the car didnt start one day, to do this as the chip inside the key needed to re-sync with the onboard carputer. I guess it did the trick?
