Twin 7" headrest install

This is my first time installing headrest screens. I was terrified (to say the least) of cutting up my headrests. I Bought the screens for 270 for the pair. Not wanting to waste the money I pulled out the razor blade and attacked the headrests as soon as I got home.

For reference the first one that I did was the drivers side, then the passengers side. The passengers headrests metal poles are more shallow than the drivers side, so it was pretty much impossible to get it flush.

To run the wire I didn't want to cut into the seats themselves, so I took a flat head screw driver and slid it in between the plastic pole cover and the leather and then slid the wires in that way. I gave it enough excess so that both headrests can be raised to the 4th notch.

Drivers side all done.

Passenger side all done.

Passengers side before finish w/ wires sticking out.

The boys wore big smiles when I turned them on. The best part is I can turn them both on without having to get out of the drivers seat, by pointing the remote at the rear glass.

What do you guys think?

Nice, I like those screens. I hate LCD's with buttons... don't wanna give the passengers any control! lol

I think it's the picture. I measured it and it's the same on both sides. The passenger screen is about an 8th of an inch higher than the drivers side, though.

No, those things wouldn't fit (depth wise), plus it would have killed the thin look of these screens. They are pressure mounted at the moment. I've smacked them from the other side without a budge, so it should be good for a lil bit.

Thanks, this will probably be the last upgrade for a little bit. I have to save up for my move to Japan next year.
I had to do this to keep the kids happy when we drive up to L.A.

I got the same screens and used the brackets. They had to be trimmed down quite a bit and fastened them with a another sleve to the metal poles. We wrapped the leather over the bracket so it is not exposed.

Do you have any pics? I kept all the parts, so I may go that route in the future. I really don't like how the leather is bubbled on the sides (I may have taken too much off the sides). I'm sure a little glue would help that issue out though.

Measured from the front they are 10" wide 9" high
From the back they are 10" high

Kind of hard to believe, because I always thought they were taller than they were wide.
