Mid-Pipe....less than impressed

Installed the coupe mid-pipe yesterday and we'll....I'm underwhelmed. Maybe my expecatations were to high, but I was expecting something deeper with more growl.

I'd like to hear from others who started with the mid-pipe and added to the set-up.

get a aftermarket muffler, coupe midpipe is not going to do much. If the midpipe is brand new then give it a time to brake in if not then that is the sound that u are going to have. Sedans muffler is to restrictive to allow the noise level to go up.

the coupe midpipe on a '05+ sedans is a waste of money. As you stated the sound difference is not noticeable, and there is zero performance gains. The midpipe on the '05+ models is a lot better than the previous model years.

I just changed the y-pipe, kept the OEM midpipe and added the HKS rear section. I got the sound without the drone and got better top end performance with that set up.

I knew going into the deal that I would have Zero performace gains, but the price was right for so I picked it up. Did you go with the coupe Y-pipe or aftermarket? I just hate the thought of dropping $300+ for the HKS and get no HP.

i have the coupe midpipe withan aftermarket muffler made by magnaflow. i love it. has a great growl to it, and not too loud. however, it took extremely long and it was extremely hard to get it installed.

G35m@ you could meet up with me sometime and hear my set-up. I have the mid-pipe with the HKS rear muffler and at times I think it's a little too loud. But other than that I am very pleased with the set-up. Nice deep sound not like those other ricers out there.

Blah..Blah...blah -
I'm selling the sways and might as well take off the mid-pipe and put the funds towards the HKS.

Is there a bigger difference on the 03/4 than on the 05/6? when i drive a 05 it does sound much louder?

Yes, you just have to buy the mounting bracket.
