Is there a way to make the 5AT shift quicker? When i reset my ECU it shifts nice and quick but after a few days it seems to get laggy and slow. I was thinking of getting grounding wires... Any suggestions?

 

valve body upgrade n grouding wires...will run you a good grand though

A good grounding wire kit has shown to help. A valve body upgrade from SGP will help for sure!

how hard is it to install? what specifically does it do i terms of performance?

the stillen/nismo ones run up US $120.

 

Not sure of the price for Gordgee's I bought mine a while back but a difinite must for better shifts.

 

The first 8-wires are easy. The last 2 will take a little bit of time, but it's a 2-hour project at best and can be done with simple hand tools.

 

I thought the VB mod only firmed up the shift itself. It won't affect when the tranny decides to shift.

 

so does everyone on this forum this Gordgee;s kit is the best?

1. Does the setup include instructions for removing the glove box to connect the ecu/tcu wires?

2. drill through the firewall - where is the firewall?

3. In the pics looking at the engine, in the top left corner you have a grounding wire attached to another wire with black tape - is this the tcu/ecu wire?

oh and in the past few days ive ordered clear corners, a new bose face for my car, rear lip kit and soon grounding gear - modding virus.

 

I think Gordee's kit is the best, it's clearly marked and the quality is top notch.

1) I don't recall having detailed instructions on removing the glove box, however, if you seach for a DYI on replacing the in-cabin filter, you should be ok.

2) I drilled though two rubber walls but it's not too hard.

3) I don't recall having anything attached to tape, however, the ECU/TCU is run through the battery compartment, through a rubber bushing into the passenger compartment.

 

I've also noticed better shifting after cleaning my MAF, just be careful when cleaning it and use a cleaner made for it. I used the CRC MAF Cleaner which I got at NAPA.

I wouldn't recommend removing the MAF from the tube when cleaning.

 

i wont touch the MAF. 15k service is due in a week so the dealer said hell clean it - pays to be friends with the only dealer in town
