Need a quick response!!

My wife is at the body shop right now having the badges on the rear removed. The Infiniti logo on the trunk is it taped on or cliped in?

If you are talking about the Mt. Fuji emblem, it has holes behind it.

there are holes behind it, dont remove it unless you are going to get the holes filled.

I guess I'm going to have to put some new tape on it and reinstall it.

Just found out from my wife that when they were taking the residue off that some of the paint came off where the G35 logo is They were using some kind of power tool thats suppose to remove this stuff. The shop was doing this as a favor and now look at what happend.

What should I do?

they were prolly buffing out the scratches in the clear coat so you couldnt see the swirls.

you could use some touch up paint, or have them repaint it.

They took off more then the paint. I looks like their going to have to repair the area they damaged and repaint the whole bumper.

bumper?... I though you were referring to the trunk emblems... anyway the reason I asked where you lived is because something similar happened to me (see pic 1, this is from some @sshole stealing my emblem with a screwdriver or something) - there is a guy in Orange that does phenomenal work (see pic 2) not sure if it's too far for you. If you want his info send a PM… pic 3 is what I ended up doing after scratch/gouge was painted.

Thanks but body shop offered to fix the damages for free. I'm just going to mount the Infiniti logo back on.

Right on... without seeing the "damage" it's hard to tell what is needed - but if you have a choice try not to let them paint the entire trunk (or bumper) - you will definitely be able to tell the difference in paint, no matter how well they color match... that's why I mentioned the guy in Orange, he did mine with an airbrush from the touch-up paint I provided.

Good luck, I hope it turns out the way you want it
