Ready to Trade for an 07 sedan

Hi all!! Haven't posted in a long while but would like to get opinions from you guys. Ready to trade my 03.5 sedan for a new one. Looking at a graphite/stone, w nav, premium, technology pkg. I found 1 journey and 1 sport model that fits the bill. The sport also has all wheel steering. Is there $3000 differnce between the 2? Would love to hear what you guys think. MIKE

all wheel steering? The 07 is a good trade up from a 3.5. I would say test drive both and determine if you rather spend the extra 3 grand for the sport. I prefer the look of the sport over the Journey myself you get the steering wheel paddle shifters, staggard tires (I don't like the rims) and LSD and the brush aluminum trim. Now is all of this worth an extra 3grand...

Are you set on another sedan? I realize most people that have 'em need them... the reason I ask is if you don't "need" a sedan you might wait for the '08 coupe! It's shaping up to be something worthy I think...

the 4WS is also active steering. The 5 series I drove once with it felt very unnatural. make sure you drive it and like the way it feels. do a lot of parking lot speed manuevers, or do a drive on a road that has lots of curves at different speeds so you can see how it will effect the drive characteristics.

I suggest waiting another 6 months or so to see if the sedan ends up getting the 330hp+ VQ37. I would be ticked if I bought an 07 only to find out the car gets a much more powerful motor in 08 for the same price.

it would be really odd if the sedan had a one year motor... I imagine they will keep the 07 motor for a couple/few yrs and let the coupe have more performance...

I say wait until the sedan get the 3.7L engine. It will probably be another year but 306 vs 330+ hp is a big difference

BMW screwed over the 2006 330i owners with a one year I6 that then became a twin turbo I6 in 07. Nissan screwed over 2000-2001 5th gen Maxima (222-227hp VQ30) owners when they introduced the 2002 5.5 gen Maxima with the 255hp VQ35 which had significantly more power and torque. In many cases the VQ35 cars were nearly a 1 second faster in the 1/4 mile.

I'd really recommed waiting until the final word is released about the 08 G sedan. The VQ35HR is a sweet motor, but I fear it's going to be a lame duck in a year.

Good point Dave I am pretty sure Infiniti will put the 3.7 liter in the sedan in the near future once the new FX and M gets it in 2008. I see them adding the technology of the 08 3.5L to the Maxima, Altima/Coupe and Murano it will not go to waste then those cars will have the same HP and torque the 07 G35 sedan has it's sad but it's business.

Yep, I agree. I think we'll see the VQ35HR long block in the Maxima, Altima/coupe, Murano, Quest, and Nissan trucks.

Has anyone seen the VQ37VHR intake manifold? I wonder if it's the same one used on the VQ35HR?
