I understand your position, and it is a reasonable argument... but I would like to leave my opinion.

I think everyone on the forum will agree to the following similarities between 03/04 and 05/06

VQ
Frame/Chassis (which im not even sure has been changed on the new G)
70% identical body panels (Exceptions include minor adjustments to front clip to accomodate the new headlighs)

If you think about it, how many m3 generations are there for the e36 m3? how bout the e46 and e92 for that matter? that would be 5-6 different generations, but we all know that the e36, e46, and e92 M3's comprise the 3 generations. Have you seen the difference between the early model and late model e46? a true enthusiast could definately point out the differences to you. Minor or not. Major, IMO, would have to constitute a new engine/chassis.

I personally give you respect for owning an 05, personally i could not afford an 05 so i bought an 04, in retrospect, I made the right decision for myself and I love every aspect of my 04 with the exception of maybe the 20horse, but I am gearing towards FI which is more practical for the lower tuned engine.

You should be proud to be in the same generation as the 03/04 models
1st. Generation, the dawn of a new breed of HPV's, the dawn of the G
IMO the OG's... original G's

Also...can you really put your car next to a nismo 04' and not think how badly you want that kit?

Finally, I'm not into the luxury feel of things, I bought an HPV and thats what I got. If wanted luxury I woudlve bought myself a lexus or mercedes.
Makes sense to me. And you are absolutely right, the '03 was a real breakthrough, a fantastic looking automobile. I traded for the '05 mainly for the brakes, by this time, 15k, my '04 needed new front pads and rotors, my '05 pads and rotors show no visible signs of wear at 16k.

I have driven every year model sedan (however the 03 I drove is totally modded).... All others stock - I own an 04.5(modded, but bought it new so I know what it's like stock).

Having that been said - not until the 07 did I ever consider trading. There just isn't enough in the 05 or 06 to make me interested. There are a few things in the later models that I like but honestly there are several things that I like better in 04.

The 2007 car is the only significant change (to me) to make a trade worthwhile.

These are my opinions... yours my differ.

I can assure that your "260hp" 04 is making just as much power as the 280hp 05/06.
