Morning Noises!
Morning Noises!
Its been really cold here in Waterloo (Canada) lately. yesterday morning it was -28 C. when i start the car there is a noise that seems to be coming from the engine, it sound like its the fan but it goes away when the car gets warmer. the noise is a short one and comes every .5 seconds. Has anyone of you encountered this problem?

That's the engine saying "man it's cold, let me warm for a few minutes"!.... hahahaha.
Yeh I've heard some squeaks, some farts, pops, and strains on cold mornings. When it's especially cold, it's louder and more noticable. Miss Silverstone and me have an understanding: If it's below freezing I give her an hour on the block heater; If it's 'brass monkey weather' I give her 2.
This seems to help her over the initial 'panic' , along with her giving me quicker heat and better gas mileage.
A timer works great for early morning plugins when some have said it's real cold at that time of day.
Give it a try-- your 'baby' will thank you for it.

Hey VQ Power, Keep your ear to the ground and feed us some HOT info on the G's when you can. It's the only way to get thru this crap we're blessed with up here, and will warm us thinking of what we have to look forward to.
