04 Taillight Opinion

Does anyone like the look of this? (notice the trunk light red-out) I personally love it, wondering if anyone else was interested. I contacted bluebat about going about something like this but I'll keep you posted... Sorry for the old pic, thats all I had with a close-up of the tail. And, I'm not very talented with photo editing but it was worth a shot

and if you can't see the full-size

Are you referring to the reverse light?

yes sir, the trunk lights would be overlayed with oracal dark red with only a small portion of the reverse light visible, enough for other cars to distinguish the reverse.

Looks pretty illegal, but perhaps a pic of it in reverse would help (daytime)

Can you host the image on a different site? I can only see a red X.

IMO it doesn't look bad, but I don't know if it's worth the money to do it...

OR another version

This way the reverse light would be clear at day/night

Definitely NOT worth it IMO....for the reason of cutting down on the amount of white light signicantly (needed for visibility when backing up @ night)... I just can't imagine adding a mod to my car that would increase the risk of hitting something while backing up in the dark at night. IMHO, I'd love even MORE light from my OEM reverse lights, to see a bit better.

hahahah thats a very good point... ive pondered LED bulbs to improve the light output too... maybe a combination.. of the overaly and the brighter LEDs?

I like the clear reverse light. It helps people not hit me when I back up.

I thought about doing this with red transparent tape. Leaving the middle clear while the top and bottom redded out. I think you will get some pink light output from this. I rather get the 05-06 reverse light.

Those "modded" reverse lights remind me of the OEM ones on the current BMW 5-series. IMO I think it's a big step backwards to reduce the size of the reverse light (and not thinking about the safety of others)
