Is this common? I though i burned out my clutch in 11k miles. Its going to be covered under warranty so im all good. I have a '05 6mt sedan. thanks.

Really i dont know, it just lost power to the tranny one day. gears were slipping, but not cause i was riding the clutch or power shifting.

That's very strange. The synchros have been going out on a lot of 6MT's but the clutch is solid for stock power levels.

the dealer said it was a faulty pressure plate, so he hinted that they replaced the flywheel and clutch too. I dunno yet but im pretty sure they did. when i broke i was cruising at 70mph in cruise control and the rpm kept jumping up and down. this was in 6th gear. all of a sudden pop i lost all power. after seeing some posts and talking to dealer im sure this wasnt my fault.

Well to answer your question, from what I have seen this is not common.

......

just the other night, i did a 5k burnout, nailed 2nd, and for some reason 3rd slipped or didnt engage at all... and im dead sure i put it in 3rd(its a short shifter, you can feel it lock in)... right after, i could smell the clutch really bad... it wasn't the tires, b/c the 2 have distinct scents... drove it around a bit more and got a lot of engine knock and jerkiness... even when i got home i could smell the clutch like a slap in the face... but drove it today and seemed like it was back to normal or at least i hope so... hope i didnt f@*#k it up too bad... hopefully minimal damage... i know, im a terrible owner...

... it COULD happen that the clutch is abused so much that in only 11K you should change p-plate and clutch, but I doubt that there is a need to replace flywheel... ??? in worst case it needs to be resurfaced.... I don`t know... replacing a part is just the EASIEST option....
