all wheel drive
Re: all wheel drive
i would've rather they release all these versions at the same time so ppl actually did have "options." when i bought my car, the only choices were color and packages.. in a few years, you could choose from coupe/sedan/awd/2wd/mt/at.. i would've liked have those to choose from at the beginning.. kinda upsets me that they may be releasing all these different trims.. i don't think that's good business practice.. but i guess it's the first years' release and it caught on very quickly, so nissan jumped on it.. maybe they should wait to offer all these things at the same time when they do a redesign.. cuz then there would be the anticipation of the redesign, coupled with the various different "new" choices available.. kind of like the FX, except with at/mt/coupe/sedan choices.

Re: all wheel drive
If it were your company, and you had the A/T sedan ready to go, and it was going to be another year before all the models were ready for production, would you sit on it or start getting a return on your investment now (as well as build anticipation for additional models)? From a business standpoint, Infiniti is doing just fine. Besides, there's always something better coming out tomorrow.

Re: all wheel drive
A AWD setup for the G35 is going to put the car into the $40,000 range... I just don't feel the G35 is a $40,000 car even with AWD,,,
I think in the 40 grand range, there is to much competition for the G35 to survive....

Re: all wheel drive
well... it's not that nissan didn't want to put out the manual sedan from the very beginning, it was just a matter of resources.... they were making as many manual sixes as they could, but they had to put them on the coupe and the Z first, since those two are percieved as more performance oriented.... now that they have more manual gearboxes availible, they put it on the sedan.... I think it's better than not having a manual sedan at all..... besides, it's not like they stated in the beginning that there wouldn't be a manual sedan and then comes up with one a year later...... they specifically told us that the manual was coming early 2003... we just had to either wait or put up with it.....
Re: all wheel drive
$40,000? The sedan 6MT list for about $31000 and the all-wheel drive should be a $1200-1600 option. That's $33,000, not $40,000. Audi A4Q 3.0 $36,000; BMW 330ix $39,000.
Re: all wheel drive
I'm sure the AWD package will only come with the loaded G35 sedan.. which is around $35000 fully loaded... AWD will run you around $2500 to $3000 extra easily, maybe 40 grand was a little to high of a estimate, but it will definatly be in the upper 30's.... Now if they were to make all G35 standard with AWD then they probably could bring the cost down due to mass production.... But since everyone on here seems to think it will be a option, then it will cost more since there will be less people opting to pay more money for the AWD....
But then again I could be wrong, but this is what i've seen in the past... as for the BMW 330xi, $39000 is a base version (which are next to impossible to find), throw in a few options and its well over $43,000....

Re: all wheel drive
The only reference to all wheel drive on a G35 is the wagon version. I don't know if it's coming to the states, or when, but I saw a picture of it and the specs said it was all wheel drive. But don't get too excited- it's kinda ugly.
Re: all wheel drive
BMW AWD runs $2000, so I can't see Infiniti selling it any cheaper, If they do sell it cheaper I'm not sure if I would trust the quality of it... to get a chaper price they will have to cut corners... In my opinion anyways...
Re: all wheel drive
if BMW charges $2000 for their AWD option then it would be a total possiblity for infiniti have theirs at $1000-1500. BMW totally overprices everything...just look at the base and option prices. japanese technology has also been historically cheaper to produce than german technology so i wouldn't be surprised if the AWD option would be only like 1500. just because something cost more doesn't mean its better...for instance...2003 G35 sedan vs 2003 330i.....nuff said
Re: all wheel drive
Ok to all if you get down to reading this far in this post. I work for a local Infiniti dealership in CNY. We have been told that the AWD G35 Sedans will be available for sale by June or July of this year. Unsure of pricing as of this point, but I am sure we will know within the next few months.
Re: all wheel drive
wow really? june or july.....that soon....i was expecting more like late september or october.....man that is great. do u have any specs on the awd version? or is it basically going to be the same as the current sedan. also is this still a 2003 version or 2004. speedproduction....we'd all prolly appreciate any details as soon as u can post-'em......
Re: all wheel drive
Two questions for Speedproduction: 1. if the AWD sedans will be available this summer, when do the dealers place their orders for them? 2. I assume the AWD option will be on the 2004 models; any word on other changes for 2004, like changing the often criticized interior (especially, the gray dash of the willow interior)?
