I drive a 2003 Sedan and about a year ago, the center stack just died and
it happenned to be on the weekend. After looking across the G35 site
I thought I'd disconnect the battery and voila things were back to normal.
So on the Monday I thought what might be best is to tell this to my local Infiniti dealer and they basically say if it happens again just bring it in ..
One year passes and it happenned again this weekend except the only thing working is the air which I can't tirn off and its below freezing here.

Now Infiniti claims no more warrantee, and they think its the radio
which would be 260$ and if its not then it would be the faceplate 600$
It seems to have repaired itself on the course of the day but just
wondering will this problem persist and maybe Infifniti should have looked
into the problem when it happpened.....

Any thought out there
Thanks

I had a similar problem. AC full blast and the radio didn't work. As well as some other odd gremlins. It needed a new faceplate. Fortunately, it was done under warranty. You should try to see if you have your orginal complaint on record w/ the dealer. If so, you might still be able to get it done as the complaint was during the warranty period.

Yeah i'm now running into that problem, where my AC goes on "AUTO A/C" full blast and the radio screen goes blank. The music still plays, but the lighting goes off...Friggin drives me crazy. Guess I need a new faceplate too....

I think it was an electronics board behind the face plate but basicly yeah, your problem sounds like what I had.

I'm having issues with my stereo also. I got the dreaded error code and the dealership says my warranty doesn't cover a new one. I was told they would send it off to be repaired. So all in all it looks like a new stereo for me. I hope you fare better than I did. I don't want them to fix it only for it to break again. I do want my cd's back though.

If you're interested I have the stock faceplate and AC/radio controls in the titanium finish. I just replaced my stereo last month and they were working perfectly when I pulled them.
