It TRULY took you only 5 minutes!? Did you relocate your ABS sensors too? I just find that hard to believe.

Is there any significance to the SPC kit? or should any a-arm kit fit?

I think the SPC kit is the best bang for the buck on the forum thru the vendor. No, not "any" a-arm kit will fit.... You need one that's for our cars, SPC is just one of the brands.

Neal376 - Did you receive the recall letter w/ the washers? I received a letter in the mail..if you used the nuts that came with the kit, they're not big enough & you need to use the washers. If you re-used the OEM nuts, you're all set.

I just installed the revised a-arms yesterday (I had the bottoming out / banging noise issue on the front end). So far so good.

I also received the washer recall kit but I was safe..I reused the original bolt the first time I installed the kit.

I noticed "Neal" and "G35papa" both have the 05. Do you think there is anything significantly different with on the 04 G35X that might not work with the SPC a-arms?

Woah, I haven't been back to this thread in a while...what is this "revised a-arm" all about? I have a banging noise issue on my right front and have the SPC arms as well, are you saying this is an issue with the original part?

On a side note, I just had my 2 bushings replaced on my front right side. Last fall I hit a pretty bad bridge abutment seam on a road and ever since then, whenever I ride over abrupt depressions on the road, my front right suspension would make a "creaking" noise, which was VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRY annoying. I didn't get it looked at until a few months ago by the dealer. They first told me my compression rods needed to be lubricated and if that didn't work, they'd have me come back and then they'd replace the rods. Well the lubrication didn't work (my drive home from the dealer revealed what they did didn't do jack $hit)...step 2, they replaced the compression rods & then said it was fixed (they were wrong again...didn't do anything for my issued)...so I finally talked to an engineer @ SPC and asked if my SPC camber kit could be the culprit....he said it could be and sent me 2 bushings free of charge.

Granted I had to pay my own labor charges to have them replaced, because a press was needed to get the new bushings on, but sure enough, this fixed it. Turns out one of the bushings was torn (probably because of that bad hit on the abutment).

Sorry for the long story, but wanted to share this with others in case something similar happens to them.

So what's this "revised a-arm" all about?

I don't think SPC makes an a-arm for the X

The revised a-arm basically has less of a bend to it than the original. So when you go over bumps, the arm is less likely to "bottom out" or make the banging noise as I had.

Here is a pic...the red arrow shows the location I was talking about...revised set has less of a bend to it.

the SPC camber kits fit on an X exactly the same as a coupe, rwd sedan, 350z.... they are all the same.

i have SPC front and rear camber kits (didnt need the hub spacer though)

Thanks. Any idea how harmful it is to the car when this banging occurs? I've had it happen probably 6-8 times already...just hoping it won't damage anything.

From what I could see and gather, it was hitting the bend where the firewall meets the wheel well. I don't think you have anything to worry about but definately look into getting the revised kit. Dig up your receipt, it should have the part number on there. Give SPC a call from there.

OK guys im officially confused. After wasting hours reading posts on here i thought i was convinced that the camber kits dont fit the X in the front. is it something different that SPC does, do u have to do some sort of custom fitment or just plug and play?
