sup fellas - Im a current G35 sedan owner thinking about trading it in for a G35x. Planning on seeing my dealer for a trade-in. Any opinions on what I should remember when going to the dealer? This is my first time attempting to trade in - I know I will lose a lot of what I spent for this car but I think it will be worth it. Let me know, thanks.

Check all the different sources for the trade in value of your car. Don't let the dealer lowball you with your trade. KNow all the number s to both cars.

 

And something I have learned, try selling it to a used car dealer, and not having a trade, I may try that the next time I buy!

It is AWD. What are you talking about?
G35X uses the ATTESA-ETS system from the GT-R.
Even AWD cars like impreza and Sti are not FULL TIME AWD. they are split about 30:70 at normal condition. This makes the car more fun to drive. Thats why G35X has the ability to drive like a RWD while it can still move in the snow. It can split power from 0:100 to 50:50

 

If you don't mind losing thousands of dollars then go for it.

I'd go for the G35x upgrade but if they try to screw you on trade in, just sell your car in the newspaper classifieds. That's what I did and I got an extra $2k over the trade in price my dealer was willing to do, although it wasn't a G I was selling though.

Like I said it aint worthit!!...Unless you live up in the mountains where it snows...I have an AWD FX35, they aint no difference between my homie's RWD FX35...AWD only kicks in when you need it...I'll say save yourself $1500 and get some parts for your ride!! PEACE

 

The FX has more weight in the back so traction on a RWD only FX is probably better than a RWD only G35. The AWD only kicks in when you need it, like powering out of corners, better take-off (30:70 up to 20MPH), and better in the snow. Granted most have no problems with their G's with snow tires, this adds a little more sure-footedness. Besides, get the G35x and some FI.

 

Man, I would never do it. How much did you spend on this car? I gather the trade-in loss will almost completely pay for a dreamworks SST 3year/36K miles-warrantied SC system
