6MT base model prices

whats the most off MSRP you've heard of for a 6MT Sedan base model. And i do mean base model with no extras. Is it true its harder to get good prices on the base models because they make alot of money off of the options?

My friend is thinking of getting an MT @ $1K off MSRP for the base model. The same deller was offering $2K off of MSRP with premium package. any suggestions?

Re: 6MT base model prices

From edmunds.com and in my zip code, invoice on a 2004 Infiniti G35 Rwd 4dr Sedan w/Leather (3.5L 6cyl 6M) and no options is $27,037. MSRP is $29,850. Leather is the only option for a 6MT. Non-negotiable Destination Charge is $545. Infiniti holdback is 1% of the Base MSRP + 2% of the Base Invoice so, you should be able to get it for around invoice + dest = $27,582 plus or minus $500 would be good. Bottom line depends on supply & demand; the dealer won't cut the price if they think someone else is willing to pay more. Buy at the end of the month for best results because they want to move em out!

Re: 6MT base model prices

I just picked up a 6MT sedan with only a sunroof added for $1000 over invoice. Most dealers in my area wanted sticker for 6MT sedans, but I found a good deal at Passport Infiniti in VA. By the way, I saw the invoice on my car and the edmunds.com invoice is low by $300.

What's your zipcode, in mine, the Edmunds and KBB show you pretty much have to pay sticker since they sell so good!

Re: 6MT base model prices

I bought the exact car you are talking about. I bought it Feb 2003. I paid $27,500.00 (plus tax and License fees). It was the first 6MT that the dealer had ever received. This is in Mission Viejo California.

By the way I have a Brillliant Silver 6MT, graphite leather and sport pkg which was also standard at that time. I'm not sure if that package is still standard.

Good luck. Don't get any other options if possible, more weight is all you get.

I just bought a 2003.5 6MT with Premium, Navigation, Winter Package, XM Radio and Aero in Brilliant Silver with Willow for $32,500 and got 0.9% financing. It was also one of only 2 6MT's I could locate within 100 miles of San Francisco. It's a great time to buy

Re: 6MT base model prices

The only option on my base 6mt was the tunkmat and I paid sticker. Dealer wasn't willing to budge at all. I also special ordered it, so that may have been why. This was at Infiniti of Tampa.

ARoss,
That is what I encountered here in NM, there is only one dealer, and not a big one either, but I wanted the car, besides, I don't have to pay the excise tax when I buy a car, so that helps!

In reply to:

Leather is the only option for a 6MT.

Not true, 6speedG35 sedan is correct. There are (4) sedan trim levels available in 2004; Sedan, Sedan Leather, Sedan Leather 6MT and Sedan Leather AWD. Both Leather and Sport Pkg are standard on the Sedan Leather 6MT sedan (as well as heated front seats and side view mirrors which were available for extra cost as part of the 2003 model year Winter Pkg). You cannot purchase a 6mt sedan with a cloth interior. In 2004, the many available options for the Sedan Leather 6MT include Bose Audio, Power Sunroof Premium Pkg, Aero Pkg, A/S tires and NAVI. Further, the many available accessories include Splash Guards, Trunk Mat, Aerodynamic Body Kit with or w/o rear trunk spoiler and SAT radio.

Currently, I am enjoying my sunroof only 6MT sedan. Please, it is in everyone's interest to be certain of any facts you post as "helpful" info.

Re: 6MT base model prices

I order a base 6MT, no options, for $28,500 total (car+dest.+dealer BS charge). I figure it was about $500 to $700 over cost. I had to order because I wanted a base 6MT and all the ones on dealer lots here around Boston were all loaded models.

Re: 6MT base model prices

I though it was obvious that "leather" referred to interior choices and that "only option" meant there was no other choice. I guess I should have said, "Leather is the only interior option for a 6MT." Sorry for the confusion.

Re: 6MT base model prices

I bought my 2004 G35 Sedan 6MT for $27,775, so I drove it off the lot for a total cost of less than 30K. Here is how my deal went down:

Being 6'3" tall (much of that from the waist up) and having sat in a G35 with a sunroof, I knew I had to get one with NO sunroof, to get the extra 2" or so of headroom.

I wanted the 6MT, I knew it would be more fun to drive.

There were no cars like this in the 3 DFW Texas local dealerships, as the the sunroof "option" seems to be how the factory likes to make them. So I wrote down the zip codes for about 40 US metropolitan areas and did a search of 143 dealerships across the country. I found a total of ELEVEN 6MT Sedans with no sunroof.

Fortunately, the closest one was in the Desert Platinum/Willow color I wanted. The only options on it are Mud Guards and Trunk Mat.

The sales department at Gunn Infiniti in San Antonio work on salary, not commission, which made the buying process stress-free. The salesman picked me up at the airport. I bought the car without ever having driven it, for their "one simple price", made lower due to the fact my car had been on the lot 45 days.

I am happier with the purchase every time I get in the car.

Re: 6MT base model prices

I am in NJ and I bought my G35 Sedan for $37k. It will come with the premium package, nav, and aero kit w/spoiler...I had to order it from Japan as they did not have all the options and color that I wanted. The base price before all options was 27k then I told the dealer I would be willing to pay $750 over invoice...and they said that is fine. My car is on order and I am still waiting for it. The cost for my G35 special order from the manufacturer is 35,200 with the options listed above. Plus tax and advertising, ect...so bottom line I will end up paying 37k.
You can order your car from Japan...BUT BEWARE....it will take quite a few months...I ordered my G35 Sedan ...November 26, 2003 (black friday) and my dealer told me I should expect the car to arrive beginning of March to the middle...good luck and I wish you a lot of patience if you order...

Re: 6MT base model prices

If you're lucky! I'm on the E. Coast and ordered in August for a September Order/October build. Picked the car up on the 19th of January!

But it was worth it!
