I went off track at an autocross a few weeks back, went through some tires and a fence. No mechanical damage, just body panels. Any part scratched and they replace it. So they are replacing headlights, clear corners, tail lights, sun roof, windshield, and many other things. They repainted every surface including spoiler and all ground effects. So I am happy with that... here is my question.


I need some measurements for the "infiniti" badging on the back of my 2006 G35x

Can someone with a sedan measure this for me? I need to let the guy at the bodyshop know




I do admit, the car looks good with just the fuji and nothing else, but for now, i just want it back the way it was.

Whoever responds to Konsole's request for badging measurement, while you're back there with a ruler, could you also measure how far to the right from the trunk opening and how far up from the bumper the "G" is?

The body shop ordered new badging for the rear. They told me that the big fuji has two holes that it fits into and the G35x part comes with a peice of foam that lines up with the body panel back there. The infiniti comes in a big strip but it didnt have a template or any type of reference.

So ya... Anyone with an 05/06 sedan want to help out?

 

You could take this opportunity to debadge. I was going to replace mine because it was corroding, but when I took off the infiniti logo, it looked 10X better. I would measure it for you, but unfortunately it's gone...

 

Call the local dealer. Measurements should come with the badging, so they should have it.

 

Just keep the INFINITI text off, it's easier to slap it on later than to remove it after they adhere it.

yeah just leave it completely blank and shaved

 

Another vote for just leaving it off, it looks so much cleaner plus it is much easier to wax.

 

What grade do they teach Reading Comprehension in these days?

 

If you decide to go there ... the bottom of the letters is 3+9/16ths inches up from the edge of the trunk lid and the "I" on either end is almost exactly 3 inches from the red of your tail light lens.

 

I'd leave them off, wish I had thought about it when mine was in the body shop...now I got to get around to taking them off
