windshield cracking noise in 2003 sedan

My G35 2003.5 sedan windshield is making a cracking noises when I go over bumps. It sounds like it is coming from near the dashbooard but I think it has something to do with the windshield. What is weird is that it disappears when the windshield is wet. Its like a fluid acts as a lubricant. It may have started as a result of going through a carwash with rust inhibitor in the spray. I stumped. Has anyone experienced a similar noise? ITS REALLY ANNOYING.

There's a tsb on that, it's the plastic piece on the base of the windshield on the outside, you have to remove it & add felt tape on the actual clips, worked for me.

Cracking noise solved. After talking to the a service tech he suggested checking the wiper assembly since it was replaced and not the original. Took the cowl off (4 bolts and a variety of clips). Took off the wipers. Removed the wiper assembly (4 more bolts). Put a piece of cork or celluous/rubber fibre pad where each bolt screws to a mount and under a few clips. I did not use adhesive but it probably would have been a good idea. It looks like foam pads with adhesive backing were previously installed but not on all the mounts. Screwed everthing back down and presto, no cracking or snapping noises. A great quiet ride again.
