i pulled in with my windows down.. they didn't even bother checking to see if i have tints or not..

i went to a chinese bodyshop that does inspection.. i think they're not as strict about it

Inspections? What inspections?

If the guys who deal with them can't help you out, I know some places you can move that don't have inspections.

for a really good tint shop, go to Tropic Window Tint in Union, NJ. I've gotten all my cars tinted there (these guys do exotics and imports mainly). Kind of expensive but they do a really great job (edge to edge, no nicks, bubbles, etc) plus lifetime warranty.

As for inspection, I usually go private. Pay the guy $50-60 and he'll pass me no matter what i've done to the car, including tints

+1, it's the only way to go. The free state inspections are VERY strict. I used to have a car registered in NJ and I tried the windows down trick and it didn't work at two different DMV stations. Find a local repair shop that does inspections and throw the guy a few extra bucks.

Have you tried your local Infiniti dealership? They usuallly won't give you a problem with tinted wimndows, since they install them. Just make sure all the other stuff will pass inspection!! (they fail mine becasue my headlight was a little loose.) GO FIGURE!!!!!!

BTW- My local guy ignore the loose headlight and tint. I gave me a nice little tip.
