Yeah I had a similar problem before. Only difference was that the fuel door did not lock itself when I lock up the car. Turned out to be a bad solenoid on the fuel door, and the repair was done by the dealer free of charge from my Basic coverage at that time.

mine did that too, broke the lil white plastic tip on the mechanism and opened the fuel door. Took it to the dealer and told them my fuel door no longer locks and they replaced it for free and never had a problem. The unlock featuer can be programmed to your preference. IT can be "unlock driver side door only" or "unlock all doors". Dealer set it at "unlock driver side door only so I only have to press the button once to unlock my fuel door.

Does anyone know how to program all doors to unlock with one press of the unlock button?

the dealer will have to do that for you. They program the BCM.

Sucks. On my FX, all you have to do is scroll through the settings on the screen and select all doors. No wonder the G35 is considered the "base Infiniti".

The fuel door solenoid just went and my '03 sedan and it is out of warrenty since July.

Is there a TSP to get the solenoid replaced?

Not sure if the 03 has the manual release in the trunk inside the side panel. You pretty much have to pull down the carpet on the side and there is something there you can still unlock the door with. As for a fix out of warranty, no idea how much it'll cost

There is a release for the fuel door in the trunk. Its located almost directly behind the fuel door but you have to get to it from in the trunk. Its on the right side you have to pull the side linning of the trunk back to see it. Mine to went, they wanted to charge me 50 bucks to deativate the door locking mechanism. I told them I hope you dont mean that little release in t he trunk cause I can do that myself.

Thanks. I actually ran a thin wire to the release pin so I could manually pull it from inside the trunk until I find a replacement.

I found a replacement Fuel Door Actuator
Part #78850AL500 for $67. It will take 5 minutes to replace.

Yes, it is called an actuator. Had mine replaced by the dealer. The problem with the actuator is that when the fuel door is unlocked, the actuator pulls back on that plunger. So it is constantly active. Thus it wears out fast. The dealer fixed mine under warranty in about 30 minutes. I'm guessing it is an easy fix from the inside of the trunk. I will fix it myself the next time it goes out.
