Need Info....Buying a G35S
First of all, hello to everyone. Just got here. I have a '04 FX35 which I've had for a few years and had fun modding (pics here -----> http://www.infinitifx.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13836 ). Anyway, as the title says I'm looking to get a pre-owned G35 sedan for my fiancee. Although she really wants the Carribean Blue, I found an excellent condition Brilliant Silver 2003 with 22K miles & premium package for $18,500. I've been searching the forum and reading up on everything, but I have a few more questions before I jump into the G35 game:
1) Are there any serious or commonplace issues with the 2003s that need to be checked by a mechanic?
2) The 2003s don't have aluminum console trim, its just a bunch of boring tan plastic. I've been told that there's no way to retrofit the 05+ aluminum console into the 03....is this true? If so, are there any good aluminum dash kits out there for the 03? Or does anyone want to sell their silver one from a 03-04 w/ sport package?
3) The G35 has D2R HID bulbs for low beams, 9003 for highs, right? (totally odd
, my FX has bi-xenon). Any suggestions on installing a HID kit for the highs?
4) I read that the fog lights are 9003 also. Is this the same bulb as the high beams or are they two seperate bulbs?
5) I'm going to add a rear spoiler, but Infiniti wants $473 for the OEM. Anyone had any experience buying a OEM-replica somewhere else for cheaper, perhaps eBay??
6) Any other suggestions for the 03 G35 sedan? I'm going to upgrade the tail lights with the 05+ lights, maybe paint the black rocker panels and add the splash guards, and down the road maybe install the '07 G35 wheels.
Thanks in advance.

I'll help you with a few:
1) Not that I'm aware of, but it's always a good idea to have things looked over by your mechanic before buying a car.
2) Never heard of anyone doing this, so not sure if you can do that.
3) Sorry, can't help you w/ that one.
4) Yes, the high beams & fogs are integrated into the same bulb. I replaced mine with yellow fogs (PIAA plasma ion) and when I turn on my highbeams, they're bright yellow!
5) I've seen others buy them elsewhere. Toni @ Riverside may be able to hook you up with one for a good price (a member on here). There are also other rear spoiler options (I have one from unlimitedtuning.com that I love, but it doesn't have a light....I'm not a fan of the OEM one).
6) Great start with the '05 tails...I did the same on my '04 and love the look....esp. @ night. Maybe lower the car w/ some coupe or z-springs? Also, you can do a z-tube and stillen or JWT Popcharger intake for some under the hood growl!
Good luck!

hey steve welcome to the boards here!
there are a lot of options for the '03 sedan... just search and see what you like especially spoiler options.
D2C bulbs can be placed for the lows

With the mods $22k. It's got few hundreds shy of 43k miles.

Question: What is everyone's preferrence between the MD 5/16" and MD 1/2" spacers. I run a 1/2" on my FX with no problems, but some of my fellow FX'ers have mentioned that a 1/2" might not fit on the G35 sedan. I'm not planning on puting a STB on the G35, so will a 1/2" fit fine with the engine cover?? Thanks.
Also, anyone have a used MD 1/2" for sale!??
