Did I break something or am I just crazy?

I installed the aluminum sport pedals and I guess I might not have just noticed it before, but is the gas pedal placed a little bit behind the rest of the pedals closer to the back? Is this the correct posistion or did I do something wrong?

This is so if granny mis-judges where her foot is pointed, it hits the brakes first rather than the gas, causing "unintended acceleration" Sound familiar Audi owners?

I did that once a while back

I should not have been driving and ended up going over a sidewalk and passing two cars on the sidewalk and onto another street. Trashed three wheels but the rest of the old car was ok. That was the last time I was stupid after drinking...

I don't know if it's so much a built-in safety feature as it is proper pedal placement relative to the accelerator, at least for the 6MT. With the brake pedal "higher" one can simply roll off the edge to apply the accelerator while still applying sufficient braking force.
