Hello folks;


Well I finally did, I got my own G35. 4 years of dreaming and the day has finally arrived, what a rush! I could only afford a 4 year old sedan, but rest assured from this day on, the car will not be getting older, it will be getting newer


So the first thing I am thinking of doing is getting the windows tinted, and this is what my question is about. I am looking at getting the darkest tint possible for my back window, and I am wondering how that will affect the auto-dimming mirror, since the tint will obviously change the intensity (and even color) of headlights of vehicles behind me. Also please note I do city and country driving. So sometimes there are tons of lights around me, including the ones from the cars following, and sometimes I am the only light on the road and it's completely dark all around, except for the idiot who didn't take off his high beams behind me.

Anyone have experience with this, or can offer a bit of advice?

I have 5% on my rear window and mirror have worked just fine.
No issues at all.

I'm not sure what's going to happen if you go darker then 5%. But at 5% you are good.

 

Ya I also have 5% it works great

 

do a search to see the difference in tint. do you have dark or tan interior? with black interior you dont have to tint as dark.

 

i have 20% cuz i have dark interior...imo, i think it's perfect

Ok so I know that around 20% tint I am ok. Problem is I was looking at getting as dark as I can (around 50%) I think. BTW my interior is black.

Anyone gone past 20% notice any problems with the auto-dimming mirror?
